Can anyone tell me how the ECU goes about retarding the timing when it receives a knock signal?   I'm curious as to what signal is sent to the knock box. Is it a situation where the timing is retarded a set number of degrees, or is it variable and what the actual signal is, as in a dc voltage or a pwm signal.
