my goals are to   replace the torque Convertor (need to buy one) replace the steering box (bought a rebuilt one already) paint my car drive my car to TX Meet 2014 start on my Red Project Quest (my first car)

Can anyone tell me what this part is i will show a pic of the broken part and where it is located. In the 2nd photo it is where the hole is on the thermostate housing. It got broken inbetween swapping out heads. So I turbo swapped my montero. Put in a 1988 starion setup. After all the work and cash, it still is slow. Only feels a bit more powerful than the carb setup I had, yet now gets almost half the mpg. Looking at power options.   So are cams worth it? I have my eye on a used schnieder 27x. Any advice? I've read that some cams will detract low end power... yet its always refrencing the 29x cams. Thanks.

I removed my shifter knob today to remove the center consol. When I put it all back together the shifter knob wouldn't screw on facing straight. I tried starting to screw it at different angles but it always tightened crooked facing the pass. side. WTH!?
