i would like to put a set of 17" rims on my starquest, preferrably american racing torq thrust II's in a custom offset.  anyone know the max wheel widths and tire sizes i could run with 17" rims and the stock ride height?  how about offset to keep the rims setting out atleast as much as the factory ones (not tucked way back under the fender)?
thanks

there seems to be some  arguement about  checking the base timeing with or with out the vacum advance  hook'd up the normal operation of the vacum advance system is to not have enought vacum at  hot idle to advance the  timeing, thats why the manual  says  nothing about  unhooking it, BUT  all things are not always as they should be , so to asure the  vacum advance is not holding the timeing any , it  takes no time at all to  unhook the hose and see if it is, and sence you already ha

recently had all of rear interior out to find water leak and decided i could put a 6 1/2 or an 8 behind the side panels with some work.If it weren't for the power seat belt junk maybe a 10 but that would be tricky.i think a pair of 8's would be the best way to go.
I used to do a lot of car audio but decided to play with speed when i got this car.so i retired from car audio.well i am coning out of retirement and why not start with my starion.
