Here is a modification I have made for the hood.   These are actualy a pair of aftermarket dampers for the opel Calibra hood, that have been modified.   http://medlem.jubii.dk/starion/gasdaemper39.jpg     ;DNow I don't have to worry about the hood slaming shut, if the hood holder pin gets knocket away , when I work in the enginecompartment. I don't like steering gearboxes. (ok now that we've established that...)   How many people would be interested in buying a conversion kit for a rack and pinion steering wheel for their starquest?   The kit would be based on a readily available rack & pinion <list of common cars w/ rack and pinion here>.  I still have some research to do on which would be best for our car and which common cars have that rack & pin. for the spair tire i would like to take out that hump in it by cutting it out and putting down just a sheet of metal so its flat in there what steps should i take when doing this, also what to do to keep it from rusting or letting in air? is there anything under that raised part that might pervent me from doing this?
