Is this normal?....

I was on the process of removing the turbo and exhaust manifold this weekend and I noticed some things that do not look right to me. 1st I noticed the throttle, it looks like the exhaust all nice and black. 2nd I noticed the manifold each cylinder appeared to burn different, the fist cylinder is nice and black, second cylinder, its only half way burning, while the third and forth cylinder had a nice white coat. 3rd the Downpipe has the same white coat. Fuel not sucking?

Hi! I've reinstalled the fuelling system in my Starion. I was trouble shooting over why I wasn't getting any fuel, and to cut a long story short, I found the pick up wasn't sucking any fuel into the pump. I removed the pipe and jigged up a mini fuel reservoir with petrol in in a jug and the car ran fine. Is there any reason why the pipe wouldn't be getting any fuel - does the tank need to be at least partly full? I put about 12 litres of fuel in, which I think should be enough. The strainer di
