New owner of 86 Starion aka Olive from PNW

Well I pulled the trigger on a 86 starion. I think I paid a little too much but good base to start off with. Don't know exactly what I want to do yet either factory restore, 4g63 or 2J. What you guys think? What's Pros and cons on this 86? Runs and drives but misfires above a certain psi of boost(maybe above 8psi). Needs a repaint but body is straight. Found my side bearing spacer for the passenger side axle in my diff is boogered up. Wondering if anyone knows if i can replace without tearing down the diff

Thermostat observations

When I got my car on the road I put in a thermostat I got from rockauto. Supposed to be factory temp, seemed to work fine. I had never put coolant in the car just water and Redline water wetter because I had planned on having the radiator rodded out. We had a cold snap the other night that had mid 20s predicted so I drained the water out and put antifreeze in. I noticed when I started the car that the water immediately started flowing so I knew the thermostat was stuck open.
