it is my understanding that a fuel cut defender isn't required for 88/89 conquests. Is this correct?

Ok so this guy on craigslist has a complete 2.6 mitsu motor but disassembled. It has a 3 valve head 2 exhaust valves and 1 big intake valve,,,, bigger than our intake valve and the exhaust valves are close to our valve size. Anyways he doesnt know what the motor came from but id just like to know what its from and if this head would work on our motors.
