Starions are really cool - a few questions
LSQuest88 replied to netdobeiras's topic in Newbie Introduction
Also if the front seat headrests were hollow in the middle that should be 88-89 style seats. If they were just like a typical solid headrest that you can't see through the middle they are 87 style seats...if That makes sense lol. I doubt the seats were changed out with 60k miles -
When I hear old roadster I think ford model a roadster late 20s early 30s. not gonna see many of those in hipster brooklyn...just saying lol

Rockford is about 1.5 hours straight west of Chicago. Nothing good here

Good guy to deal with. Part was as described, he also got back to me right away on a shipping quote. Glad to have another honest guy on here to work with.

Bosch 044 pumps are a good fairly cheap reliable pump for around $150. I think you can use it as an in tank or external pump. Not sure what others are using as my car isn't running the g54b or stock tank but I'm sure somebody else will chime in

Oil pressure and water temp gauges. You'd be surprised how many don't have those standard anymore -

Jay Leno's Garage About The '63 Chrysler Turbine Car
LSQuest88 replied to Starfighterpilot's topic in Just plain ol' B.S.
Believe it or not I just watched that about a week ago. Crazy where he set the glass of water on top To show how smooth the engine ran. Also how u could run it on any sort of combustible fuel...like perfume! And now I think he said there's only 2 left in private hands. Crazy, gotta love some of chrysler's crazy outside the box ideas. -
Hell just a good set of heads and a fast intake would help alot and there's no pulling the motor for that. Good job brother

I always have used the permatex ultra black since I started wrenching on stuff. I'm assuming same thing as ultra grey but different color? That stuff seals great. I don't put it on silicone or aluminum gaskets but anything else I do. I swear by that stuff. I think your over thinking it. Make sure you wait the 24 hours for full cure if you can before it comes in contact with oil and you'll be fine

An iron block -
218mph! Wow they have that thing dialed in! That thing launches hard for a small engine pushing a big turbo

Welcome I'm about 3 hours north by rockford
-
Whereabouts in illinois are you? I'm on the north end just north of rockford
-
I'm fairly new here so any closer meets back in the day I was not aware of. But being in the north part of Illinois about 20 minutes from the wisconsin border is hard for me to make it to a meet. It's definitely nothing more than location for me. 17 hours of driving to texas with a swapped quest with some parts no where to be found at local parts stores makes it unrealistic for me. If I break down I'm stuck for a while and I don't have a trailer. Wish I did, if that was the case I might consider it. But hell like others said too cash is tight. It would cost me probably about $3000 by the time everything is done. Plus I have a wedding to pay for coming up in may. If there was a closer meet only a few hours away...I'd be there and you could count on it. So for me it's location
-
Wow that's cool haha still just think where even that case has been

Rims and tires are worth about $750. My bro just picked some up on Craigslist for his 350. So that alone makes it a good deal
