  2. Made my Scott I am in the process of going MPI and wanting to go with a MegaSquirt harness instead of using the stock harness So I have my current MegaSquirt ECU up for sale. Ready to be plugged in and go, it plugs straight into the stock harness This came out of an '86 Details: Megasquirt MS1 running 029y4 firmware on a V3.0 board in an 86 compatible Mitsubishi ECU case Boost control Launch control/flat shift Modded pre-88 plastic ignitor to drive MSD CDI Price: $350 http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh538/leesfer/IMAG0193_zps416da455.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh538/leesfer/IMAG0192_zps30e3203c.jpg
  3. This is an awesome car, if only you were closer
  4. It's been a long time since I have worked on my car I've hit a stand still with the electrical and with daylight savings not giving me any time to work on my car, I am waiting until I have a garage to finish it. Hopefully mid-December I will be moved into a new place and working again
  5. For the love of all that is holy, I need the link to the original video of this! And as per thread rules: http://wac.450f.edgecastcdn.net/80450F/thefw.com/files/2012/07/San-Diego-Fireworks-Go-Off-All-at-Once.jpg
  6. Speaking of original, does anyone have a link to the original?
  7. You can try a recovery program like Recuva http://www.piriform.com/recuva
  8. It's possible you were driving an AP2 S2000 then, as the AP1s are much less forgiving I don't actually bounce off my limiter, I was just making the point that these cars are just happy to be high in the RPM band all the time
  9. Exactly and this is backed up by the price point.. it's one of the cheaper cars on the market. If it was aimed at older folks with money it would have 444HP, a larger wheel base, and come with a Ford logo on the front of it
  10. The biggest offender with snap oversteer is the S2000, I've never driven a car that was worse. You need to be way up in the RPMs for that car to pull itself out of a turn, much like the BRZ which is where the similarities start They both have to be wrung out to make power, they both have similar weight and distribution, they both are very rev happy and will hit the limiter all day long
  11. I've driven one, yes... and it's true they are not fast, in fact I would call it slow, but it's FUN When you put the pedal down and the highway it's not that great, but as soon as you start diving into turns it really shines... it's very similar to my S2000 actually On a side note, I have no doubt there will be turbo kits popping up for these all over the place and that will be awesome
  12. If specs mean nothing then why do any of us modify cars? Specs are not just the HP and 0-60 times, it's how the car is put together, the weight distribution, the aerodynamics, the chassis strength, the RPM band, the transmission type, so on and so forth... It's what the car is, it's everything about the car I find it sad that some people hate on companies for not making great driving cars and once they do, people just complain and nit pick. They finally are making cars that are fun again damnit, don't ruin it for the rest of us because you only like things designed in the 80's Plus the BRZ is so much fun to drive, it's an awesome little car
  13. Design and tastes are subjective... not one car is ever going to have every person like it but specs are specs I think the BRZ looks amazing and so do many, many other people
  14. It's not even that big of a turbo, not worth any of the trouble it would take to re-engineer that for use on the Quest
  15. Damn I was living in Burbank up until a little over a year ago
  16. There are plenty of cars that run skinny tires that will out handle most cars with wide tires. In fact skinny tires are more fun, too many people immediately go for wide tires too soon without even realizing how much more fun getting sideways is with skinny tires Mazda Miata, Honda S2000, Lotus Elise, and Lotus Exige just to name a few
  17. There is an STI concept making its rounds... could be coming http://www.autotribute.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Subaru-BRZ-STI-Concept-side-view.jpg
  18. Maybe the end is to add a cam position sensor?
  19. That was the concept of the car, it's already in production and this is what it really looks like I don't think it's supposed to be a Supra-like car at all, they are going after the entry-level Miata market http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/04/2013-scion-fr-s-2d.jpg And it comes in Subaru flavor, too http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2011/12/lead6-2013-subaru-brz-fd.jpg
  20. I originally took this route because I am in California and I wanted to be able to smog my car, but I've since changed my goals and I regret not going full aftermarket harness but oh well, I am making it work and it hasn't been too difficult so far, I just wish I documented the harness better before I took the car apart... I wasn't prepared for the FSM to not show everything
  21. For the most part yes, but I've had a hard time figuring out which plug should go where and which aren't needed anymore The wiring diagram doesn't seem to match up to my harness perfectly
  22. Am I missing something or is this ad 3 years old?
