  1. As Phil was pointing out, the 4.6 is a DOHC motor because there are only 2 cams per head. A "true" QOHC V-8 would have 4 cams per head for a total of 8.
  2. Using correct terminology, yes. But they're often erroneously called QOHC because of the grand total of 4 overhead cams. As far as I know there has never been a mass produced true QOHC motor.
  3. A V-8 or V-6 with dual overhead cams on each head. Like the new Ford 5.0 or the 6G72.

As with any industry with billions of dollars at stake it has become highly politicized. The EPA has been demanding production levels that the CE manufacturing industry is simply not capable of achieving. But we appear to be on the brink. This will be interesting. Anything that will get me 100+ octane at the pump definitely gets my vote

  21. Thanks for the pics Phil. That is a squeeze, but it's obviously doable. I can see you had to clock the wastegate. Did you run a dump tube or merge it into the downpipe? Is that your car? If so, what made you switch from the treadstone to an adapted stock mani?
  22. My car had a buck in it at around 3500. Turned out to be the vacuum advance. It's super easy to check, takes even less time than picking at an injector clip.
  23. Mike pretty much covered it. A smaller mass is easier to manuever on a hoist. What's your location? I'm always willing to help a local quester.
  24. Has anyone run an HX35 on a treadstone manifold? I just got the manifold a few months ago, running a PTE turbo on it. I'd like to get an HX35, but I'm worried about clearance issues.
  25. Could be this. If you're running a single pass radiator the water just isn't getting enough time to cool. A lot of guys in our dirt track racing circle run restrictors instead of thermostats.
