  1. Is this the same pulley as came on the 83's. I have a one piece from an 83 that I plan on using for the EDIS ignition. Dean
  2. I made two of those spacers but they have a home. However, I think Arnold has a spare spacer. Let me know if you are still interested in a spacer. Dean
  3. I have a lot of interior pieces from my 84. The dash is in excellent condition. I have some of the console, door panels etc. Let me know if you are interested. Dean
  4. Lower ball joints will cause the car to follow the grooves in the road. I had Dunlops on one of my Quests and it folled grooves. I put Bridgestones on it and it went straight. Like was mentioned, struts will cause it to go groovy. These Quests can be made to go straight.
  5. Have you tried to close your hood yet? The last picture you have there looks like the radiator is pretty high. My radiator is just about even with the core support for the hood to close.
  6. I have three Quests with these radiators and they are all 3" thick. I have flex fans on all three of them. I haven't tried the clutch fan.
  7. I got mine Friday! I hope they work as good as they look! Thanks, Dean
  8. I would like to send a cashiers check. If I do paypal or credit card my wife will know about it. If that is possible , give me an address and name. Thanks, Dean
  9. I think I need a set of 750's for my Magna intake. These are 750 cc right? What is that in Lbs? Thanks, Dean
  10. I checked our spare 2.0 engine and the TB measures 65 mm. It has something else molded on it which looks like it might be a fast idle control. This could be cut off or possible used for idle control. It is pretty ugly with this unit molded on it though. The bolt pattern is the Falcon pattern which is a little smaller than the Mustang pattern. The bolt pattern isn't a problem for me, I just wondered about the performance of it. Has anyone used one of these?
  11. Thanks Chad! I see some angled but I wondered about air flow and which is the best. Dean
  12. I'm just getting ready to weld the TB flange on the Magna manifold. I would like to angle it, like I have seen some angled, to get a straight shot to the battery area. Does any one know the angle the TB flange would attach to the plenum?
  13. My Starion used to womder all over the place. It was dangerous to drive and switch lanes. It would jump over once it hit the groves in the road. I had Dunlops on it then. I switched to Bridgestones and it rode quieter and doesn't wonder anymore. If the alignment is good and there are no worn parts then it's tires.
  14. Very Nice!!! You do excellent work! Clean and sanitary! I looked at all of the pictures and especially the rack and pinion. To get rid of that bump steer, the pivot points on the rack must be the same height as the attachment point on the spindle. If they are lower than or higher than, you will have bump steer. Normally the tie rod attaches to the spindle at about the same height as the lower ball joint. I have run into this situation several times and that is the only way to correct it. Sorry to see you have that problem. To fix it will require some changes that may not be friendly. Good Luck!
  15. You want to use "wet or dry" sandpaper. You will want to wet sand to keep the paper cleaner and so you don't see you have sanded through the skin on your fingers. Wet sanding will give you a smoother finish by washing away the accumulation of metal.
  16. I put an 87 spoiler on my 85.5. Putting the piece on the hatch is pretty simple. Just drill holes. Putting the pieces on the sides is a little more difficult. There were no holes in the inner panels to get screws or nuts through. I just drilled 1' holes for an extension and socket to go through. It will fit, it's just marking the holes.
  17. I got the seal at the local parts store. I didn't keep the part # of those. Our parts list shows Beck/Arnley part # 052-2904. Seals should be easy to get for the Starquest.
  18. I just got a Rocky Mountain radar unit a couple of months ago. It picks up all radar and lazer and even POP radar and jams them. It also has a circuit that makes your unit undetectable to the cops. It is legal in all but a handful of states. It is legal because it doesn't transmit signals. It receives the radar signal and reflects it back with with an attached signal that causes the radar unit to be unable to lock on, so you look invisable! It was only like $290. I figured if it saves me one time it has paid for itself. It has paid for itself several times actually. This is the company that will pay your speeding ticket if you get one in the first year. I had one of their older units for a couple of years and it worked good. I've been told this is the company that makes the police radar so they know how to jam them. Next year they will make a new police radar and then will be selling a new radar jammer. What a scam!
  19. Jim is from Muskego, WI. Jim advertised in the parts for sale forum. I wanted to buy an air dam from him. He told me the dam was torn on one side where he wrecked it. Then he tore it taking it off. I still sent him $80 for it. He said he would ship it the week of 10/22/04. I have sent him messages and got no response. I don't even have a ripped up air dam. He supposedly wrecked his car and was selling parts. I wouldn't recommend buying from this person. Professor
  20. I took a sensor off a 89 Sonata and have been running it on my car for about 8 months and it works good. The connector is the same except the wires are in the wrong place. You just pull the pins and switch them arround to match your old sensor. I even measured the voltage on it and it was what the Mitsu manual said it was supposed to be. It also ohmed out the same as Mitsu.
  21. I just got a Moto Sport Type R timer. The directions say how to hook it up if you don't have a harness. I hooked it up but oviously didn't use the right wires. Everything seems to work except when it is timing out, the fans don't work. The engine gets hot very quick. This is in an 87 TSI with an 88 ECU. However, my manual is an 86 and the wiring colors are a little different. I have an 88 manual I copied off the internet but the electrical section cut off the last inch or so and I'm missing information. It has 5 wires. Red, yellow, blue which go into a 3 wire connector. The brown goes to the emergency brake and the black is ground. I hooked them up to the Black, black/ w White and the blue. Does anybody have a clue as to what I might have done wrong? Thanks, Dean
  22. I did my front brakes a while back and found a bad wheel bearing. I live 25 miles from the nearest parts store and it was late at night so everthing was closed anyway. I checked my parts cabinet and found out that my 65 Ford Mustang bearings are identical. Both inners and outers. These bearings were used in many cars for many years. If you ask for a Ford bearing it might be less expensive. For example, I just priced a TPS sensor for Starion and it was $228. I priced the TPS for Hyundia Sonota and it was $107. Same Sensor.
  23. I put two vents in my hood from a 280ZX but they are different from any I see here. I made little aluminum trays under the hood to catch the water. I took them off for a little while to see if it would run cooler. It rained and the engine wouldn't start. I found the Ignitor box plug full of water. I put the pans back on and no more problem. I would show pictures but I can't host pictures.
  24. I'll try to take a picture tonight but I will have to send it to you because I can't host pictures.
