  1. Had a Metro bus mechanic/welder/DIYer/jack of all trades for a grandfather. He never used a breaker bar but when I inherited his giant tool box all he had was cheater pipes instead of breaker bars. I never bought a breaker bar until 09 when I had 3 studs snap on my fwd balt and needed to pull the hub. Limited tools available.
  2. Exactly what I was sayin. You'll get tired of always beating simple Civics and Celicas and Eclipses bla bla bla. My 99 Chevy Tracker beat those cars with its Suzuki engine. Some cars are engineered better like StarQuests and some are... not. My Balt is slightly modded but after my general Honda encounters I started focusing on newer v6 stanks, g35s, 90s Cobras... Things like that. I would hate to blow a car out the water as well as my engine. You start racing whatever you can and I'll by you a Honda Civic... Extra large aluminum wing plus coffee can included. Btw... NOT flaming you. Good job. I hope you've caught the bug.
  3. Or your lines could be clogged. TB could be clogged, the conical filter just before the pump could be clogged, and like Brazilboy said, could be the in-tank filter.
  4. Can't stop laughin lol! I'm glad the Star has flip up headlights. No worries in a flood now. BTW! I always thought VW is the best in the world.
  5. Been drinkin all day myself. Effin right.
  6. Geeze... All that abuse. Get a good breaker bar. Not a fan of banging a mallet/hammer against my tools to break a bolt/spark plug. You can do a lot of damage. When I did my suspension on my Cobalt I took the end off of a crutch and used that with my wrench to make a breaker bar. You can mess things up banging it with a hammer.Like stripping the bolts and/or even breaking your tool. And anti-seize is your friend. And finger tight is all you need for plugs. Anti-seize.
  7. I'm interested. How did these cars not catch on as "kind of a big deal"? Makes me feel special but then pissed off at the same time lol.
  8. Maybe he felt hunted. And IMO, don't waste your time on civics unless it's the newer Si, EG hatch, well... all hatches lol. Except for the early 2000 model Si hatches. My stock n/a cobalt with heavy 18's would eat those things all day long mods or not. Don't put extra abuse on your car when you don't need to.
  9. I was gunna b*tch out and just buy another one but now that I get a "how to" guide I think I'll just do it myself. Things with little parts scare me when I start tearing them apart. I've been told I have sausage fingers lol.
  10. I wake up in the morning and look at the time, notice it's AM and then roll over lol. But seriously, I think about what I need to get accomplished that day and then schedule it accordingly to make sure I have leisure time to just relax (sometimes I use that time to get more work done so I can relax longer the next day). As far as life, I treat it as a chess game. Thinking several moves ahead. But at my age it's senseless to schedule the whole thing out. So I have a rough draft. Get good job, marry hot chic, have kids, own cars I want, get old, die.
  11. I went to autozone which is in the ghetto where I'm at and the manager there actually told me to dump my old fuel in a ditch around there and look out for cops. Yeah, my fuel is sittin in a 5 gallon can in my shed. I started to evaporated it in small amounts but we've bad some bad weather here. It's filled with rust so I won't put it in my lawnmower.
  12. This just came to me. How does the car drive? When you hit a bump in the freeway does it bounce a little in the front or does it seem taught? Also you can try pushing on the front of the car to check resistance in the springs and also note if the car doesn't stop moving when you stop pushing on it. I'm going for blown springs/struts.
  13. I like alcantara. They use it in Astons and stuff. So the price may be high. But then again it may not be.
  14. Nice haha! Sounds like a good thing to try on mine while i'm bringin it back to life. Could you maybe post a link to the SOS?
  15. Thanks. The air dam I really want is the 88/89. Will I have to mod anything or is it a direct bolt up? I would assume it's a direct bolt up but I have no problem modding it.
  16. Gotcha. That sux man. Hope you get it fixed soon before it leaves you stranded.
  17. Well if you look at battery cables that haven't been cleaned in a while you'll see the usual tarnishing from the battery acid. I've cleaned them already otherwise I'd show pics.
  18. Alright. I'll have to look in the FSM and see what to do. Pretty much got the fuel system figured out. Got all parts but the in-tank fuel strainer. Guy who gave me the tank gave me some good pointers on the conical filter as well. I haven't been able to touch the electrical system yet due to rain (my grandmother made me move the car outside while I work on it thanks to the fuel tank incident). But I don't think it would have any gremlins since it's been garage kept up until last week. All fluids looked perfect after draining except for the gas. Even the oil looked brand new. Spark plugs had zero corrosion which is a good sign. Battery connectors were even perfect aside from showing evidence that a live battery was plugged in at one time.
  19. Nice lol. Btw... there's another upside to cold weather. Hot chics that are cold like to cling to a warm body. Even if you're cold you probably feel warm to her and then you can get warm together... uh... however you plan to do that
  20. Nice discovery. Btw, where did you relocate the battery?
  21. Heck yeah man. The weather in Houston has been fluctuating lately but the other morning it was in the lower 40's/high 30's and my little brother just learned how to drive stick so I let him drive my Cobalt with short ram intake and yada yada yada. I warned him to take it easy because cold weather really excites the car. He says, "ok", then takes off like normal and gets scared, throttles off without touching the clutch and we look like bobble head dolls for about 7 seconds as the car bucks against the clutch and tranny gears. I'm glad none of the neighbors were out, saw the car, and thought it was me lol. But I know they heard the car sound funny because the 2.5" free flowing exhaust can be heard a block away. Not to mention the exhaust pops like an SRT-4. Sometimes it sounds like a gun shot close range.
  22. Thanx. I figured but security is much appreciated
  23. Yeah it sucks being on a slight uphill at a light in light rain and u go to accelerate and you have a nice 1 tire fire with almost no acceleration. Btw, ls1 Miata is one of my wish list builds. So is a mid engine FD3S powered by a boxer motor lol I think outside the box). And you said TT as in Audi?
