  1. Anybody just buy a white 87 Starion this November in Houston, TX? From an old lady in particular. Factory intercooled turbo with wide body, sunroof, and burgundy leather. I just want to know the plans for the car. I'm the grandson and was not able to take possession of the car until yesterday and I found out she sold it earlier this week. Any info would be appreciated.
  2. Kill cell phones and the internet and you enter the great age of the HACKERS which will go down in history books how they took over the US. I'll pre-order my copy of the documentary and the movie to be released 3 months after it happens. I want a poster for my wall too with frame. Just my .02
  3. I just want to say that Fallout is an awesome game but would rather not see it become real life. I'm not really a fan of the US being the police of the world. And it's because of that we might belong to China in a few years. Unless the Illuminati decides to step in You guys don't think they'll kill me in my sleep for mentioning them do you? I mean seriously. You don't think they would do you?
  4. Looks real fun but let's get rid of the 8 ton Cherokee with too much power and high center of gravity (engineers and their ideas combined with powerful marketing minds haha). He scared me and I was just watching the video. I'm not a backseat driver but when I'm not in control it makes me highly uncomfortable unless I know you're skilled. And this guy is not. Plus he drives like a 16 year old. Accident waiting to happen indeed.
  5. Earl is kind of a random name to throw in lol. I must be missing somethin in that. Just my .02. Looks nice though. Glad to see it progressing so quickly where as my little projects end up taking months or years sometimes. Keep us updated.
  6. Not to be a jerk but it's bought
  7. Eff that man. But I live in Houston so when it rains (which happens all the time) I get the whole "I don't know how to drive in rain" syndrome which is a lot like the "I don't know how to set my car up for snow" syndrome. And when it snows here people drive like it's a summer afternoon. Scary. And everyone drives all season tires here because ice is rare and snow is even rarer. Yeah... we have a high accident rate when we get a hard freeze. At least we still have bees Al Gore. I'm pissed off now a little bit. I should have never replied to this.
  8. It looks like an evil tooth that came to life. But this whole post has me cryin in tears LOL!!! I needed that since the same guy who ate my honeybuns last week went in my pockets while I was asleep and stole all my cash (which is a big deal since I wait tables and tips are like 98% of my income. Thanks for that lift guys. Btw... the guy took off and I haven't seen him.
  9. Imagine actually being in the military and because of rank and marital status you're forced to stay in the dorms. Granted it's the air force so you have your own room but only have to share the bathroom. You get off from work after working on missiles the whole day so you just want to go home and drink a couple beers and relax. But when you get home the entire base goes on lockdown because some idiot in a UHAUL truck runs through the front gate (blows tires of course) and now he's sitting in front of your dorm about 1000 feet away screaming there's a bomb in the truck and if security forces gets any closer he's gunna blow. I can't go anywhere and the base is locked down. So now I'm sitting on the balcony with a chair drinkin my beer and waiting to see what this fool is gunna do. No evacuation and I can't go anywhere. He surrendered and it was a bluff but was right there watching everything. This was a couple years ago. Forget the gas. I was literally looking at a possible bomb truck 1000 feet from my home drinkin a beer and smokin a cigarette even though I wasn't supposed to smoke in that area. They eventually told everybody else doin the same thing to go inside though. But imagine that.
  10. I've seen a mid 90's coupe (sorry I'm not so good with my gens anymore since I lost interest in Honda around 7 years ago) with the intake manny stickin out. He was hella slow though and tried to race a super boosted mr2 and lost really bad. My overweight friend raced him down the Galveston seawall on foot and won cuz he killed his car on the launch which made him the laughing stock of the Galveston cruise back in '06. But good luck with the EF. They can be really fast. I still hold my head down after my Balt got raped by a crx but the dude was an a** and refused to tell me what swap he had even after he beat me. I also ran an EG which was gutted with a stock K20 runnin open headers. Guy vibrated my entire car when he ran me and then again when he walked on a Mach 1. Dude was seriously fast.
  11. Haha! I call it a race and a win. I wish more runs were like that. So what if you know how to shift? Can you heel toe and modulate a happy pedal? Well can you do it in slippers? Good kill man. I remember Takumi Fujiwara couldn't beat his dad's Impreza (where my Initial D fans at?) I remember a time in my Cobalt when I was moving to Vegas due to military and I was a bit heavier but had a nearly 50/50 weight distribution as opposed to the usual 60/40 and recognized it immediately when I was running the downhill in AZ headed north to Flagstaff and this punk in a Sentra SE-R tried to outrun me. I was headed to a friend's house to stay the night and accidentally passed his exit by several miles and had to turn around. That's where I met the Sentra and I just out drove him on the downhill. When I let off and went to exit he too did a ricer flyby. He got owned by a car almost 600 lbs overweight. Btw, I was waiting for the vid to buff and almost forgot to watch it. Nice run. It may sound a bit off but I'm glad to see a large number (at least from what I've observed) of black people owning these cars. I don't feel so alone here
  12. I'm not thread jacking here but I've heard several times about running really heavy weights of oil in our cars. Why is that? The owner's manual states that 10w30 should be used except for in lower temps where 5w is accepted. I live in Houston so lower temps aren't an issue. So what's the deal with heavy weight oil? Just a quick answer is all I need then back to this guy's problem.
  13. My mom had one when I was younger. It does have huge luxury. Not sure about maintenance though. I was 11 when we traded it for a big conversion van (big family). I learned to drive with that car (yes I've been driving since I was 10). Lots of power.
  14. Thanks. Now apologize to my Cobalt. She's been good to me.
  15. Beer. Usually about 3 or 4. Or juice. Jk, I usually drink a couple bottles of water. And sometimes beer.
  16. Here's an idea. Instead of crappy drawings and examples and given circumstances and all this quantum physics talk (which quantum physics deals on a sub-molecular level which scientists can't explain. What does it have to do with strut tower bars? Can one SB simultaneously exist in another place at once?) some one just make a STB out of aluminum foil and go for a very spirited drive, posting before and after pictures, and let's see if the foil STB is all messed up or if it retains 100% of its original shape. I'd do it myself but I am without working vehicle for now. Seriously, let's get some proof. Otherwise you're not allowed to post here without saying something outrageous like Knuckles can beat Sonic in a footrace and Tails can't really fly, he just glides for prolonged periods of time, even when stationary in air. He's gliding still.
  17. Hey hey hey... my interior is maroon. Yes it's ugly but there's no reason to hate it
  18. At least you're not here where it likes to rain a lot instead of snow. Constantly at around 80% humidity with the weather dipping into the 30's plus rain equals really cold miserable weather. Then there's the wind that likes to come along.
  19. My base model is pushin 130k and still strong... except for the aftermarket security system that decided to shut the ignition down. I push start it and then the system cuts fuel and she dies
  20. You make a good argument. I think I'll start making posts about things I don't know about to join the fun. We need the old heads here for their knowledge. Maybe they'll get disgusted by all the wrong things I say and come out of hiding. Or maybe I'll ask old questions again like... how do I fix the clutch that slams to the floor? I have the answers but since I haven't been able to work on the car to fix them I will just ask the question again to refresh my memory even though it now comes up in the search when I go to look for it. Some guy was asking about that in another post and they gave him the answer and referred to another guy having a similar problem not too long ago. I think that other person with the similar problem was me. The search isn't as easy to use here as it is on Cobaltss.net but I still manage.
  21. I feel kinda sad. Is there a teddy bear in the for sale section here? Cuz I could really use one to hold on to now.
  22. Used Cobalt SS usually equals abuse. The clutch doesn't really hold up after all that either. And my base model 2.2 gets 34 mpg. But let us know how the Volt is. It's a pretty nice looking car. Not my style but it's still nice.
