So I haven't been around much lately, but life has been busy to say the least. For those of you I've know for some time now, my girlfriend Liz, mother of my kids, has been ill since late summer. Fibromyalgia is the primary diagnosis at this time, and it has made life tough for her and our family. Between that, the family and school, it's been hard to be active on the boards. I am by no means gone though. Appropriately, on Easter, I started my 88 for the first time in a while. It has a bad turbo, but runs well enough to keep the fluids going. I will have her at 100% again, as I hope for my girlfriend. Neither has given up on me Either way, I wanted to say hello again to all of you, both old and new, I hope life is treating you all well.

I have to be honest and say I've learned this the hard way, but the best suggestions I can think of to save money are, don't spend money you don't have "in hand" to spend, and recognize the difference between "wants" and "needs". Home and new auto loans can require loans, but not a lot else does in my opinion. we waste a lot of money paying interest to companies when it is cheaper to save and pay cash in the end. As well, playing catch-up only means your behind, at which point saving is not really an option...

Good example of an oligopoly; like the ownership of a lot of media outlets. cool schematic Fanta.

I have no problem with that if Oscar doesn't, but I would make sure to email him with your order either way. I'm on campus m-f, so meeting shouldn't be a problem if that works... -

Sorry, but I'm a "good turbo" short of making it. I should be good to go in the summer though. -

Nice looking ride there. I bet you can figure out the 1/4 mile time on the way back here -
I purchased a header panel from Tom. He gave me a reasonable price and shipping time, as well as what he advertised. Many thanks Tom

bought a taillight. arrived as promised with extras Thanks Jeff

Should be the same. I really appreciate the offer too. I'll be heading up that way relatively soon to met up with Alan, Rusty (have to stop in and say hey if he's around) and probably Ron, maybe we could work something out if I'm still in need or if you're looking to make space. A spare couldn't hurt. I'm looking the have it squared away by the 8th of Jan so, just in case I can't make it up there sooner, I will still purchase from starion0352 if all works out on his end

sounds good. just waiting on a pic

I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out. I would be interested if you can get it done

Good info. I'm considering removing the flames from my tint. I think it gives the wrong impression about me and my car
-
Little late getting to this but the car looks great. Love the color choice

Really nice work. Love the attention to detail, and can't wait to see the finished product

I wish I could do this right now being I'm already having to look at my tranny, but I can't commit right now. I will definitely watching to see how this goes though. I won't always be poor

Thanks Nathan and Bill. Half of a smooth transaction is effective communication between both the buyer and the seller IMO. You both made it easy to maintain that. I appreciate your business. Thanks guys

That's what i've always thought Matt. I've yet to be able to try it out but I think between a flex/ clutch fan, and an opened up 83' hood that it should do a great job of circulating the air in the engine bay very well. I'd love to see actual measurements of running temps in the bay with and with out the see what the true benefits are.

Sorry JR but you are wrong on this. I'll post something I found here a long time ago. It shows where down force and lift is. As you can see the down force / negative pressure is right where the scoop is forcing air in and the positive or lift is right where the vents are, pulling air out. http://webpages.charter.net/justind23/staraero.gif

The 83' hood can be modified to be function-able rather easy. It's just some well done cut's in the metal under the rear vents and making the slits in the scoop bigger. It also ways a little more than the the 84'-89' hood. I think it's about 3lbs more but please don't hold me to that.
