  1. there is always the possibility of putting the head gasket in upside down, they have a definate front and back to match the ports for oil and water you need to test for pressure, the cheap and easy way to test is a radiater pressure tester placed in the radiater and run the engine looking for a fast build up of pressure, that will tell you what you already know anyway the best test is to use a cylinder leak down tester to fill the cylinders one at a time with air pressure and see where the air flows to, that will tell you which cylinder it is and what part of the cycle is leaking ( exhaust, coolant or rings)

  8. make sure the engine is totally drained of oil and antifreeze, I had to pay for a rug once when oil got all over the floor of the delivery truck
  9. there is good news and there is bad news, first of all computer controlled cars need to draw amps all the time second , its not 2 amps there is a way to test draws on cars with a digital VOMeter but you gotta know what you are doing it takes one volt to push one amp through one ohm of resistance( ohms law for you computer guys) so you wire a 0NE ohm resister from radio shack IN SERIES with a digital VOLT meter and place it BETWEEN the battery post and the load, then measure the drawn volts, that number will match the amps being drawn, it should be a bout .5 amps

  13. you would have to have the 6 speed transmission of choice picked out Lance, to my knowledge your not going to be able to stack transmissions behind each other creating a 6 speed

Its been a while since I visited wth my wide block R 154, I been working on a lot of new systems and just kinda put it on the back burner, but busdriver asked me to get one ready for him so I dusted off the old pattern and built one raw casting I had on hand http://www.billsautofab.com/images/R154wideblock210.JPG http://www.billsautofab.com/images/R154wideblock211.JPG busdriver didnt believe I had a couple laying around >;o))))))))) http://www.billsautofab.com/images/R154wideblock208.JPG http://www.billsautofab.com/images/R154wideblock209.JPG

  19. just a fabricater, with a lot of friends that grew up in this kind of work
  20. the original starter motor arriangement on all these starters are just two bolts, I have changed that to use all 4 bolts to attach the starter to the sandwich plate http://www.billsautofab.com/images/6G72adapterC4bellhousing110.JPG http://www.billsautofab.com/images/6G72adapterC4bellhousing114.JPG because of weight and drafting considerations, I knew a plate would have to be placed in the starter placement so a bolt could be attached to the rear of the starter motor http://www.billsautofab.com/images/6G72adapterC4bellhousing116.JPG http://www.billsautofab.com/images/6G72adapterC4bellhousing117.JPG

  22. I can't put a number to the time involved but I need to build it in kit form and figure out what it will cost, I have some new dies for my equipment being built now so I can do the job better/faster This will come with the starter, housing and flexplate sooooooooooooo If I was a betting man I would put it in the $600.00 range but there is a lot more coming, the water pump conversion is needed for this engine for this to work and I have a few suprises
