  4. Good luck finding a running starquest for that price. I got mine for that price which was a steal. Im selling mine for $2500 on here in the classifieds. But i have listed most of the items i have since put into it. Let alone the money i spent taking it to a shop for some electrical work. I know where a non running one is in San Diego for 1700 i think it was. It was silver and on craigslist.
  5. I sent you pm. Assuming you wanted the 83 hood.
  6. Nobody in San Diego huh? Lower Price to $2500. Dunno how to change the price in topic title though...
  7. My buddie had and still has his 74 corolla. Was gutted and i think a 3tc motor. crashed it going sideways at 30 mph. he didnt have a seatbelt. lol. hes ok and still has the crumpled car in his garage all parted out.
  8. Do you have any known good radiators for an 88-89 starion turbo? (Must have the bungs for the thermosensors on the bottom). How much shipped to 91911. I noticed my car is using a non turbo radiator without a clutch fan. :eek1bluegreen:

  12. UPDATE ON POWER-STEERING PUMP!! damn, first time i got under the car to actually look at the pump. Turns out that one bolt was missing. (The one holding the pump to the bracket). And one of the bolts used as the tensioner bolt (the one that allows it to swivel to give slack to put the belt on) was loose and backed itself out and caused the pulley to jam up against it and stopping it from rotating. So the pulley indeed now spins freely. I will try to flush out the old power steering fluid and put in new ATF fluid. Buy a belt to put on and finally enjoy relaxing my forearms. lol. Ill try to update if the pump actually works.
  13. Wow thanks edde and caliber308. Do you guys know of a fuel pump that i might be able to use without the use of an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. such as a smaller walbro or a different bosch. Or even the flow numbers of that bosch. Thats my main goal, cause i dont have big plans for the starion. For example my 98 GST i could upgrade to a walbro 190lph without the use of an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. I did check out that E8002 pump but still dont know if an aftermarket FPR is required with that.
  14. Well considering that i have not seen too many other pumps for this car i may be willing to cough up the cash for the Bosch at TEP. Bolt on is exactly what Im looking for, no hacking up stock lines in place of barbs for me. I dont have very big goals for my starion and I'am still learning about it. If i can get away without using an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator that would be great. I willl however keep doing more research on the pumps and checkout this Master E8000. I just like to be assured by other peoples personal experience. Thanks
  15. about the power steering pump, i figured i had to take it off. Oh well i'll just throw on my spare. And like scott87star said rebuild my old one later if its repairable. Thanks guys.
  16. Well before i bought my starion FSM, i asked the local idiots at autozone if the car required any specific power steering fluid. They said no, any power steering fluid will work. WRONG! Suppose to use ATF (automatic transmission fluid). I accidentally found a thread explaining how using the wrong fluid can seize your power steering pump, which gave me the answer as to why it failed. But i was wondering if there was a way to fix it, or does it have to be sent out and rebuilt. I dunno, i was wondering if flushing the fluid and putting all new ATF would un-freeze the pump. I do have an extra pump i got at the junkyard that spins freely. Just wondering if i could save some time and or salvage my frozen power steering pump. And kinda off topic: is there a bolt on fuel pump for the starion besides the walbro 255? I know racetep has a bosch pump but does not list how many lph it flows.
  17. Well, if anybody from SoCal knows of any other groups to roll with: Evo's, DSM's... Just hit me up. Its a shame no other starquest owners from SoCal are replying. I see a few roaming around here now and then.
  18. I live in San Diego, actually Chula Vista. Was wondering if any starquest owners in this area are going to make it to MOD? My plan is to take both my GST and my Starion. I'm currently working on the Starion in order to have it ready by then. But if that fails I'll take my GST but, would still be up to meeting some other Starquest owners and cruising up there. If not I might just try to find an EVO crew to roll with. Last year I met up with about 20 EVOs and 1 other DSM in oceanside then drove up there. This year I'm looking to do about the same thing. Feel free to PM me. THANKS. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q179/li.../Picture247.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q179/li.../Picture260.jpg
  19. Whoa. I hope my 87 has the same style as yours. Wonder if there is a way to know for sure. I just thought the retractable thing was just broken. My seat belts seem to do the same thing as yours. This was the scariest thing about driving my Starion. Guess I will have to try the braking while tugging on the belt to find out.
  20. UPDATED! FOUND ONE AT LOCAL DEALER LESS THAN $20. THANKS! I need a thermostat housing for an 87 starion with local pick up in southern San Diego. As of right now my PayPal account is not up so I cant take any PayPal offers. Would like to get my starion running so PM me if anybody's got one or if you know a place that might have em in stock. The local autozone doesn't carry thermostat housings.
