InvolvedRotary Posted March 13, 2011 Report Share Posted March 13, 2011 Posting to let everyone know the condition of my evoIII 16G W/TD05H wheel: After ONLY 4k miles the oil seals have started failing and the turbo has developed front to back shaft play (minimal side to side). It does not smoke visibly to me at speed or when idling for short periods, but coming home after a 15~20 min drive to let things cool down, she begins to smoke heavily (oil smell), goes away when some throttle is applied but returns after a few minutes more. It DID spool fine prior to the issues it now displays, and neither wheel appears damaged, though there is oil residue on the hotside's plate/seal thing that sits behind the turbine. Also, turbo only ever saw 'stock' boost (7psi) never more (stock wastegate). Turbo is off and sitting in my floorboard as I debate what to do with it, i've already got a new OEM 12A thanks to another member a month or so ago (when the oil smell and some noise was first heard). Let me know what you want to do with this Julian, I know I was one of the first few people to get a turbo back last season (just in time for my new motor to be broken in), so heres to seeing if its a seal failure or what (ive not disassembled the unit any farther than separating the exhaust housing from the CHRA, may take my AN fittings and oil drain off as well). He was suppose to have them back to me last week and nothing. I sent an email a day or so ago asking where they are and have yet to receive a reply. Considering the injectors were already used, the intake has been hacked on and the throttle body powder coated nothing is the same as I sent it to him and i can't very well sell a used set of injectors that are sitting with fuel in them as new so there's another loss. This has got to be the lesson of the century. I guess it's not as bad as poor Joe Rivera "4cylfury" who paid Franko the XtremeDouche $2300 and barely got a grand in parts back. I just heard that the XtremeDouche had his cell disconnected so I hope there aren't any other people out there (yeah right) that were trying to get their money back from him. He promised me for two weeks that it was supposedly packaged and by the front door ready to be shipped. I gave him close to $500 bucs and have been patiently waiting but now im realizing patience gets you no where!Ive been waiting since feb. of last year. I just sent you a text and I have very good records of every email, PM and text we have sent... see where I'm going with this? I'm a good hearted person and I have given you ample time to make even a small part of this right by sending me back my parts and still I get nothing. I just got your text back and I want you to know I'm finished with the games, this is the last chance I'm giving you. I need the package in the mail with a tracking number asap and it needs to be an actual tracking number showing the package has been shipped from your post office and its on the way. tg118 Posted May 6, 2011 Report Share Posted May 6, 2011 i got my turbo back from julian a bit ago, we just started to get nice weather in PA, so i hooked it up, and was having the same issues that i had before, i sent it back monday( at his expense) and , he put a new housing on it, even though its prob not even my NO-BOOST issue ( THANKS!!), i have seen how hard it is in the past few months to come across a decent stock turbo ... julian i will send you( at my expense) the12a turbo i purchased, so u can have some parts... i appreciate the call last night,the advice, and THE 4 HOUR TURN-AROUND!! shipped, fixed and a tracking # the same day he received it! thanks again! Julian Haan you are a liar and a fraud..Its 5-10 years average sentence for internet fraud, per count now add grand theft for exceeding the $500 mark and you have set yourself up for atleast 25 years...Your kid will be your age by the time you get out...
