As you can tell from one of the videos linked in the first post, I installed one of Jolyrgr's 2.5" kits on my car last weekend. I was extremely pleased to find that this was a first time fit system. I didn't have to bend any tubes, make any cuts, etc. Just to install the straight exhaust takes about 1.5-2 hours, and that's at a very leisurely pace and included welding the slip joints rather than clamping them.

I installed a 2.5" magnaflow on my exhaust and I have to say that this system sounds loads better than my old. I used to run crimp bent 2.5" exhaust with a flowmaster. Outside the car was fairly quiet, but inside it badly droned and was very noisy.

Now I've managed to gain a very noticeable increase in power and turbo response, and my car is quiet while cruising, yet throaty when accelerating. Couldn't ask for more. B)

Finally uploaded the photos I took.

This is essentially what you get out of the box. From the turbo to behind the bumper. Straight exhaust in a box!

Slipped my muffler onto the end for a comparison. NOTE: I used an 18" muffler. Jolyrgr warned me the system was for a 14", but I had already purchased the muffler by then. An 18" will fit, but you'll be in for some custom hanger work!

Why waste money? I spent $400 to have a local muffler shop do my exhaust and they half --------------- it. For $400, I got a full STAINLESS system. With muffler I was at about $480. Had I gone with the mild steel exhaust, it would have been much cheaper.

Like I said, half ---------------. Why deal with this sort of BS? Go buy a kit MADE for the car.

Once installed, it has ample clearance. I wouldn't be worried about running over most parking blocks with this thing.

The fit and finish is spectacular.

Best system I've seen, very tight, straight and MAX clearance! Will you modify the down pipe flange for specific turbo designs? 5 bolt T3/T4s? As soon I know what kind of turbo I'm going to install will you work with me on that? I'll be in touch.

I will do what I can, and I am willing to sell the system in sections. When the time comes, PM me and we can see what details can be worked out.

Still haven't decided on the turbo: Garrett T3/T4 or Borg/Warner 256 for the down pipe flange. As soon as I do I'll order a 3" ss complete system c/o cataylitic converter and Magna flow exhaust if they're still available. Keep up the good work and thanks for helping to keep these cars on the road.

Later,

Are these still available for purchase? Also how easy would it be to change my mind at a later point in time and install a muffler onto the 2.5 pipe? (I'm kinda of a newbie still). Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the late reply...holidays get busy at work.

Both the 2.5 and 3" systems are designed for a 14" muffler, and the tailpipe section is slip-fit at the installation point. This makes swapping the tailpipe/muffler out quick and easy. Extra flanges can be ordered if you would like to further simplify the process.

Feel free to PM for a (hopfully) faster response time.

Finished installing the 3" turbo back yesterday. Hardest part was getting the old OEM crap off - I gave up trying to get the rusted bolts on the old cat off so I just dropped the whole exhaust.

The Star-Orion setup fit in quite nicely, only thing I ran into was the bolts for the test pipe/cat section were a bit short in my opinion, so I just used some longer ones I had on hand.

Here is a sound clip, with the system test fitted:

Took it to a muffler shop this morning to get the slip fittings welded up and my MagnaFlow 14419 muffler (its more like a resonator) and Monza Resonated tips fitted.

Up on the lift - the middle hanger fell off as I didn't tighten the bolt holding it on enough  so the middle is sagging a bit:

Finished:

Its still a bit loud for my taste, but the sound is a lot smoother. Will get a sound clip when I get home.

Any updates on this? Looks like an awesome fitting system. What's your opinion on what power level requires the upgrade to 3" system? I'm looking at a SQ with a full 2.5" system on it and am wondering if I'll need 3" to get to the 350-400hp mark without choking the system. Not too familiar with power levels on them just yet. Also will this work with the 19C race turbo as that's what I'm looking at using when I build it.
