BlowinUp54B's
Mine looks just like that, and I don't have anything to plug into the 1.
strang3majik
yes it is Now, cut the plastic around the 7th pin, and plug your stock plug into it
pitboss
Cool, Thanks. Yeah the air can was throwing me off. I think I'm going to take each wire out of the stock connector and put them into my 1G connector though, if it's not too much of a PITA. I'm trying to make it look stock, so no one would know just by looking at it (unless you know wink.wink). Just hope the 1G MAS fits into the stock air can with a K&N air filter and with the stock lid on it (I'll make the MAS adapt to the stock lid). You will need the 1G MAS lid, it wont fit the Quest lid.

89PalermoSHP
I didnt think it made a good seal around the top... do whatever suits you I guess.
pitboss
You can drill and make it fit the stock lid. Dad Thats what I did. I lined it up with the top 2 holes (right next to the sensor connector) and side 2 holes. Just had to enlarge the top 2 holes slightly and drill new ones on the bottom. Used the cork gasket for perfect placement. Dremeled out the connecor opening too abit. RTV'ed (blue sensor safe stuff) the MAS back to the gasket and onto the lid. Ready to go in. Shelby
you can make it fit but if you do not use the 1g lid your wasteing your time useing the 1g air mass,,the oem quest air filter houseing is TOO short for the 1g air filter and it'l restrict the amount of air the engine can get ALL air comes in thru the bottom so it can be read by the air flow sensor , you may think it's working but for real it's not up to par with what it can do and lots of talk about the air inlet and hot air,, truth is while your on the road cool out side air is rushing all arround the filter area , the oil seperator can be remount'd easily and should be retain'd

As Shelby points out it only gets worse with the longer 1G sensor. A really simple upgrade is putting the original sensor in the 1G housing. Stock wiring, no mixture change and you get faster spooling with more power. Kevin C

I'm trying to use everything stck but just with the 1G MAS in place of the original MAS is all. Yeah, as you said when your driving all the cold air coming in through the panel heads strainght for the bypass tubes since their face the inlet from the cold air coming from the outside within the box. If I can get my hands on a 1G lid, so as to pull the 1G mas up a couple of inches, would it still strap down to the stck air filter portion correctly (don't know if their the same oval shape)? Can I still use the accordian hose, because that's all I have.
BrazilBoy
I have a 1g mas and what I did just got a lid on ebay with k&n for 20 shipped. Just an idea. You could get a 1g K&N filter and use the stock lid clamps to hold on the filter...just a thought
pitboss
The trouble I think happening here is I want to keep it all looking as stock as possible, for smaog checks, but keep the 1G MAS incognito
