saltfish
I can't seem to get my 274 degreed right. Thinking I want to go back to stock. Anybody have a stock cam around?
Big Al
Mechanical or hydraulic? The 274 too aggressive? I've been thinking about replacing my cam with something a bit beefier since the rebuild left only hard pipes and a cam to replace to be complete. Big Al
Make sure you have the right type of cam. You will get excessive noise from the head if you put a hydraulic cam in a mechanical setup and vice versa.

The differences between Mech and Hyd are only very slight lift changes. The lobe shapes are the same so you can run either rocker with either stock cam. However, aftermarket cams may require the correct rocker for what the cam was made for. I get cams from u-pull-it yards for $15. The 2.6L Caravans have the same cam, and just about any 2.6L cam will work.

Dad
can you get me a stock mech cam? I have both in stock, Mechanical and hydraulic stock cams Dad
Tim_C.
If you want a new stock cam, I recommend getting it from Dad. Sometimes the junkyard cams have issues that I get cleaned up professionally because we are regrinding it too.
