Trying really hard to get this thing able to drive to pigeon forge.

Assembly time. The foil you see if Damplifier, it is a sound, vibration, and heat mat. Your looking at about $120 worth.

Engine harness looked like it was going to be such a pain. Not the case. Electrical service manual really helps as it has a diagram of the wiring harness. I can probably put one into a car and have each where it should be in about 2-3 hours now that i've done it once.

Fuel tank before, talk about a pain. Looking at getting new fuel lines. Inside the tank was hell and it took a lot of cleaning. New filters, walbro 255 pump, etc. so I didn't want little pieces of rust getting in there. So many because I want to look these up at the shop for reference :)

I love it! Makes me wish i had the time, money, and space to do that. And Health now. I was fully able to do a resto to any car really. But wanted to do my red car in the same manner. Full in amd out color change to green. Powder coat the suspenion. Motor is already built, but would freshen it up. DO a full shave on the engine bay and wire tuck. AND finally run MPI. But sadly i can no longer put that much time into my car. I have been doin a wire tuck for a week now.

Sorry abiut the rant......A+ on the work MAN

I hear ya. Not having a girlfriend helped lol. Everything seemed to line up perfectly for this to work out. These cars cost a lot of money to restore so I saved a lot of money by getting a car with a blown motor. With my Dad knowing how to rebuild these things that wasn't an issue. I am a college student and its currently summer which means no class. I will say and I am not exagerating this....I have been out here every second I really have besides going to work. So I hear ya on how time is such a factor to go this far. I'll tell ya what I am real grateful I have the Dad that I do.

i hear ya too. I have a wife, a 4 year old, and now a new born on the way very soon. And like you said about your dad. As much as i bust my dads balls and tell him he's a hack when it comes to cars. If it wasnt for him showing me how to change a tire at the age of 6. I dont think i would have loved cars so much. When even i get everything settled with my job and my house and the baby. i will pull the red car apart and start my REAL build. And it will help to find another DD

It runs! Very smooth idle. Previous owner already installed a 1gmas harness and we verified that it is wired correctly. Distributor was off a tooth causing our idle issues. I am VERY excited to drive this thing...in first gear...in a small lot lol. Working out a few bugs, luckily non-tuning related. Great oil pressure a little below 40psi at idle. Cooling system seems to be working great from what we can see so far.

I know i'm a bit behind on updates. I'll try to get more up Saturday. I am hoping to paint some parts then such as the inside of the doors, fenders, etc. College started and jjooc needs a hand pulling his transmission this Saturday as well. I'll make a note though :)

I just sat and read all four pages of this thread, took me a good half hour, lol, and it is the most thorough and definately one of the best jobs I've seen done. Props dude, You are a god. When I grow up I wanna be jus like you.
