Turborusty
"Ahh brings me back to my firs taste of boost. 1986 Daytona TurboZ CS. A Gunmetal blueish with maybe a black hood. But I hated the FWD, so I donated it to the Goodwill and bought my first quest. Real stiff suspension but it pushed alot. Fun cars otherwise, I actually regret getting rid of mine somtimes. just found this on wiki, Mine was a t-top C/S. Wonder how many were produced. 1986 There were changes for the 1986 Daytona. The middle "Turbo" model was dropped, leaving just two models — Base and Turbo Z. Engine changes were also made: A new 2.5 L 100 hp (75 kW) 4-cylinder engine was added for the base model. A new t-roof package was added to the option list, but just 5,984 Daytona owners chose this option. The biggest addition was the optional C/S (Carroll Shelby) Handling Package. This consisted of 32 mm (1.3 in) front and 28 mm (1.1 in) rear anti-sway bars, performance tuned struts, and speed rated tires. This package would foreshadow the Daytona Shelbys of 1987 and beyond. Only 7,704 owners added this handling package to their Daytonas. Total production this year would be 44,366. Hoosierquest.....that's exaclty what I have. An '86 Daytona C/S with T-tops and a 5 speed. The one I scrapped was also an '86 C/S in the same blue-ish color you had. automatic no T-tops. here's what it looked like. Can't really tell it from the pics, but the car was pretty hashed. http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10070/100_3848_(Medium).JPG http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10070/100_3838_(Medium).JPG http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10070/100_3837_(Medium).JPG For those who asked. I'm in Washington, right on the border from Portland, OR The interior's in decent shape, not great. Leather on the front seats is stiff with small tears here and there. Mostly it's just dusty and dirty from sitting around. Been in my garage doing nothing for nearly 2 years. The worst thing about it is it needs the T-top and window weatherstripping replaced. There's still a guy aroundwho has brand new sets available for it. It runs and drives, has new struts and shocks, a fresh tune-up, new battery, glass is all good, new Grant steering wheel. Body's in great shape...couple door dings here and there. And being from here, there's no rust ANYWHERE! I was thinking of listing it up for $1,200-1,400 or best offer. And no....I don't think they were anyone's attempt at keeping the Conquest alive, especially when you consider it came out years before Chrysler ever marketed the Conquest. Turborusty
Im interested in a Spirit RT. I have a 2.5 Cosworth head and cams for one. PM Me Lotus or Maserati were the only ones to manufacture the DOHC heads for Chrysler and only on the 2.2L, not the 2.5L and the Spirit R/T only came with the Lotus head. I'm guessing that's what you meant though? Turborusty
