Biden to Supporters....

Unfortunately, I don't think that will ever happen. The masses thoroughly enjoy their handicapped state.

I can't help but remain hopeful man. I also need to revise a part of my previous post about "Obama vs Ignorance". I don't mean to say you'd have to be "ignorant" to vote for McCain. I think it's very possible to vote for John McCain and not be ignorant. What I mean to say is that there are not enough "non-ignorant" voters who support McCain for him to get elected. So Obama's fight right now is against the conservative scare tactics that can only be believed by the ignorant. Judging by the comments being shouted by the people at republican rallies, it seems like there are plenty of folks out there willing to remain ignorant enough to buy the whole, terrorist, arab, socialist, communist smear campaign.

We should have voter registration testing, not just voter registration. There are people who are too dumb for their opinion to be worthy of being expressed, but they're allowed to express it with their ignorant vote.

I couldn't agree more with that statement. I have a friend who knew nothing about GWB either term leading up to the elections, but slapped stickers on his bumper and voted for him because he was a Republican. No other reason. People like that should not be allowed to vote.... and I'm not claiming I would pass the test, but I recognize the fact that it should exist....

republicans would never stand for it. They know they'd never get elected again. Without the conservative Christian base voting solely on the basis of abortion and gay marriage they would literally, never get elected again. That's why it's time to stop granting tacit respect to people who share our religious beliefs and biases.

I'm not so sure I'd pass a voter registration test either, but I'd study for it. The testing will likely never happen because it would be discrimination against your right to be dumb. Some ideas for voluntary testing have been kicked around and one I like A LOT is a hand out given to voters that states each candidate's position on an issue but doesn't tell them which policy is whose. The voters then select which position they like better on each issue. At the end, whoever "wins" on a majority of the "issues" is who the voter should feel compelled to vote for.

But the problem runs so much deeper than just that. We have to try to get to the bottom of why people take the stances they take on certain issues like Abortion and stem cell research and I don't think a voter registration test could ever go into that much detail. Perhaps it could. The ignorant masses in this country aren't just voting along party lines, they're voting along religious lines as well and they're deciding for all of us and we shouldn't have to stand for it any more.

I'm sure the 4 year old Parkinson's diseased girl would like for someone to accelerate the search for a cure by whatever means necessary. Yet conservatives want absolutely nothing to do with the most promising new line of research in history that could result in a cure in a few years, in time to save her even. Stem cell research destroys a human zygote when it has developed into a 150 cell clump. There are 50,000 cells in a house fly and you scratch roughly 40,000 dead skin cells off every time you scratch your nose, but the 150 celled zygote's soul is more important than the 4 year old Parkinson's sufferer. This is not moral, but it is majority consensus. There's no stopping majority consensus when people insist on retaining their right to be dumb.

But we're getting better, and we really are in our infancy so again, I have to remain hopeful for the future of humanity.

we can't even get a photo id requirement without people screaming discrimination - no way will testing ever take place.

yeah no kidding. even if you just tried to push voluntary voter education you'd get backlash about "who decides what to put in there?"

The "voter education" system should be our school system, but we're too busy advocating equal time in school for the equally "theoretical" notions of creation and evolution.

Sarah Palin paling around with Extremist un-americans..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eniG9l_7its...feature=related

Maybe Alaska is one of those "un-American" parts of the country she was talking about. Hell they are socialists up there. They all get a pay check to live there every year from cradle to grave. For kids its put in a trust fund until the are 18, then they use it for college or trick out their truck. In '94 it was about $900 a year (I know this because I went to college with some students who came from Juno) now with Sarah's help its up to $3,269.00. Isn't it ironic...don't cha think.

IF that happened and you didnt have a team with you and you were 1 person with as many guns as you want doubt you would have a chance dude unless you're Rambo. That sounds like more of a law enforcement issue.

Have you ever seen someone get jumped by five or six people, only to find out that that "one" person whoops everyones a**? You know the old saying, "quantity doesn't equal quality".

Are the odds stacked? Sure they are. Does that mean someone should just give up? I don't think it does, especially when it comes to someones life.

Don't you take preventative actions in your life? You run higher octane in your SQ, with safe boost and timing levels. Do you eat a variety of food to include veggies and fruits? Do you excercise? Do you brush your teeth and take showers? Of course you do. Why? Because it's in your own best interest and you're definitely intelligent enough to understand the ramifications of not doing such things.

What does it matter that I carry a weapon for the same purpose?

It doesn't stop there with me. I know how to survive here in my climate if I were to be stranded. The same can be said about if my car breaks down, I can probably rig something up to keep it going for a little bit. It's just my nature, I do what I can in order to get by in most situations.

Maybe if less guns were on the streets and less Rambo's were walking around the police could focus on real things like stopping Teams dressed in swat gear invading homes and not cleaning up after some idiot arguing with his wife brandishing a gun gets shot. (oh that happened not far from here a while ago...)

Again, it falls into personal responsibility. If every gun owner kept their weapons in a safe(a good one), and didn't leave them in their cars, the only other way for undesireables to obtain them would be through "straw man" purchases. You won't notice the "rambo's" walking around until their life is threatened. Same for the guy who has trained in martial arts for half of his life.

IF less money was being blown stopping these saturday night special shootings more money could be spent cracking down on the Mexican drug trade

(Wait, I forgot , we trade guns to them for drugs, since the Reagan/ Oliver North years.. Right.. thats why guns are so important..)

It boils down to what criminals will arm themselves with. If guns were never invented, i'd carry a knife.

If the only weapons around were fists, i'd train with them just like I do with knives/guns/collapsible batons so I can be the best I possibly can at securing my future.

When it comes down to my life versus some raging tweaker or gangbanger, you better believe it's going to be on.

9 Times out of 10 Fights are won by choosing the terms of engagement. Sometimes 'avoiding' fights where the Odds are stacked is a smarter tactic.

Worried about home invasion? Maybe invest in a nice security system in addition to some smart firearms. Having an arsenal at home only puts more guns in the streets when your home gets robbed and you are not there.

No matter how much training you have things happen.

For example. This Tragic_incident

At a show full of 'trained gun enthusiasts' with an 'instructor' watching. Now Im not saying gun ownership is bad, but just because you have training its no replacement for judgement. And good judgement is what helps avoid situations that lead to violence in the first place.

But, two each his own....

It makes me wonder if with this "gun control", will it be like before the 21st ammendment where when alchohol became illegal. It became more of an issue. If we trade them guns now, what would people in the U.S. be trading the Mexicans for guns? Would the people that aquire guns illegaly become bolder knowing 99% of other civilians best chance to prevent, or defend from a robbery, rape, etc, by throwing a rock or using a stick?

I am definetly for background checks and waiting periods. Maybe the focus should be more on education or stricter qualifications for owning a firearm. Instead of prohibition. I agree with no matter how much training you have that accidents do happen, but we don't take away our ability to operate a vehicle because an individual gets in an accident because of negligence.

Maybe we should just find the truth by putting our candidates on lie detectors during an intense interview to see where they stand. Maybe we should look more into what the candidates have really vote for not just what they say. I have one friend who says they won't vote for Obama because he admitted to doing cocaine in college and absolutely nothing about any real issues. Another friend said he wouldn't vote for McCain because he just doesn't like his personality. So don't just vote for somebody because the other can't raise his arms high or half black. Please vote on who really makes a stand on what you believe is right and just and get the facts to make sure you know what they stand for.

Here is some help with where our candidates stand; http://www.kitchentableblog.com/EF08H02.pdf http://www.lc.org/media/9980/attachments/f...ential-2008.pdf
