xxx87quest24psi
So me and my brother just got done putting a CA in his S13. And it pulls.......!!!!! hard!!! He's maken 265whp and getting 35 mpg on 92 pump gas. Altho it doesnt pull as hard as my 4G on E85!! its still preaty crazy for a 1.8L motor.. I see a RB25 swap is in progress, But a CA is just a little RB its three times smaller and extremely light weight!!! I no its not a mitsu motor BUT I just picked up another conquest so i think i might just do it. Its just a idea let me no what you guys think!!?? Minagera
I would say rock the ca18, however if you are rebuilding it, I would offer a small suggestion. Get a ca18det block and head, use the ca20de, or ca20e, pistons, so you make it a 2 liter. Get it balanced well, and rev it to 7 grand. Stock cams only are good to 6 grand, but aftermarkets are available :-) More power to you man, I love that engine.

jinx
A friend put a CA18DET in a 89 conquest in ~3 days. I was amazed how the little puny motor moved the much heavier car with its tall 3.54 gear. Last I saw it alive, the owner was doing donuts in a parking lot with two other people on board. Car was eventually scrapped. Motor wound up in a toyota starlet. Surprisingly it was a SHP; I wound up with the 8/9s & adj shocks Most CA18s will rod knock when you beat on 'em. Swaps only make sense to me, going into lighter cars than the donor. CA18s fly in corollas and starlets. Don't waste your time with any of that CA20 $$$tuff.... you'll regret it.
