Those of you with the Mookee MK1 switch overlays in black, blue and white, would you kindly post some pics of your setup? Should anyone with extra sets of white and blue overlays wish to sell, kindly contact me. I also would like to know whether anyone modded their AC controller to match the Mookee MK1 blue gauges, and if so, any pointers would be welcomed.

also, as for the AC control's, someone has a write up somewhere, but essentially you will be taking apart the controls and replacing the orange film with blue etc

fanta,

he asked for the switch overlays...I am assuming he means the switch buttons and not just the gauge overlays.Did Mookeeh offer the switch overlays like importintelligence offers?

Star_v8_quest / Fanta,

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I posted about the side cluster switch overlays. I already have the Mookie gauge overlays, and I did contact him for the switch overlays, but apparently he has no more. I also know that a few bought more than one set of switch overlays and wondered whether anyone might consider selling an extra set, provided that they were the colors that I was after. I also contacted Importintelligence but they do only offer the switch overlays with the gauges. I would have purchased a gauge set from them, just to get the switch overlays, but was told that the markings would still have to be in orange. I have a few extra AC controllers as well as side switches and clocks to disassemble and convert to blue to match the gauges, otherwise the auto will be returned back to orange.

Once again, thanks to you both for the help offered.

Jms

Yesterday I dissasembled an AC controller and found it a piece of cake. Very simple to change all the colors. Now I have to find someone who can make overlays, including the one for the face of the AC controller (besides the ones for the side switches). To make this change, one plastic filter and several reflectors need be changed to the color desired. These reflectors are painted and would need to be cleaned of the old color first, before applying the new desired hue. Hope that this can be of help to others.

Should someone know of anyone who could make a high quality overlay, please do let me know.

losisong,

mxg on this site can make the overlays. I am preparing my designs before sending them to him for production. I am also going to replace all the bulbs with LED's.

livesTSI,

I'm still preparing the layouts for the overlays. Once I finish, I'll supply all details including parts needed and their sources. If all goes as planned, even the LED displays for both the AC controller and clock will show as white (numeric pad) against a blue background. The overlays that I designed will be able to be customized to any desired light color, by either changing the lenses or the LED/bulb colors. Mine's an 88 Fiji TSi and the AC display will still be black, with the orange lines changed to white (also the "Auto air conditioner" above the display will be in white).

At this time there are a lot of ideas, which I do not foresee any problems carrying out. Should anyone have interesting suggestions, please feel free to speak up.

Rgds,

Jms

the pieces are all new

starting with .010 thick clear pvc sheet, I printed 2 reversed clear decals, and left where it was orange clear

since I don't have a scanner, I took a picture, then tweaked it back into shape in Photoshop, then changed/adjusted the "colors"

then placed the 2 printouts on the plastic on top of each other to create some opacity in the black, but as you can see, I had to back that with the paint marker, because it wasn't enough
