  1. Hey, thanks for all the interest. I've gotten a lot of hits on this. Holding out for someone that will buy all my parts including 2 spare tail lights i forgot to mention. I've been extremely busy and haven't had time to post pics. Will do it sometime before Thursday to give everyone a fair chance. Thanks guys.

  3. I have an 83 hood for $400 . Also available is the right and left fenders, both side skirts, front bumper(no air dam), grill, and both headlights for the 87-89 widebody Starquests all for $100.   4. Is it possible to use the stock power antenna with an aftermarket radio? I know most new head units use a blue wire for 12v out to the antenna but our cars antenna relay requires more than just 1 wire to operate. Is there a work-around or interface to allow it to work with just the one 12v signal wire? Thanks in advance.

  6. I had my windshield replaced 2 months ago and the installer swears that I bought the last one in the U.S. He finally found one in Cali after searching for a week. I'm looking to buy one crated and store it. If not, I won't continue to put money in it if it won't pass inspection. Are there any other options if there aren't any more new ones to be had. Thanks in advance.

  8. I need what the manual calls a "spring cover" and NOT the big rubber boot on the gearshift stick. Can't find the part number on the online manual. Thanks in advance.
  9. Noticed smoke coming from my dash while sitting in drive-thru line. Figured out it only happens while pressing the brake pedal(brake light switch I assume). Tracked it down to the bottom part of my hazzard switch. So hot it burns fingers touching it. Let off brake and it's fine. Had a spare cluster switch and replaced it. Replaced all brake light bulbs(1157) and also the 3rd brake light bulb. Still smoking. Real head scratcher. TIA

  12. Finally had time to fix problem. 2 things wrong. Wiper motor wasn't ground properly causing it not to park. The other was a fried ETAC which turns on and leaves on the wiper relay when the ignition switch is turn on. Actually bought the car like this thinking it would be an easy fix. Hope this helps someone.
  13. Finally down to my wiper relay. It is energized when the ignition switch is turned on. Confirmed by seating and unseating the relay. The electrical print says it is controlled by the ETAC. I have already swapped ETAC's with another with the same result. Don't know if it is a known good one though. WHAT TO DO NOW? :confused0024:
  14. So is it safe to use a 88 ETAC on a 87?
  15. It's an 87. I bought the car figuring this would be an easy fix. He could have hooked up jumper cables wrong, don't know. Factory alarm works. Hadn't check dome light lately. Noticed that I could pull out the blue/white wire from the wiper motor connector and it stops. This also allows me to see that the high speed switch controls the motor properly. Confirmed the wiper relay is OK(washer motor works properly). Using a meter, I confirmed that the blue/white wire is being grounded only when the ignition switch is turned on. Makes me think there is another relay stuck closed somewhere or (like you guys say) the ETACS is fried. I have an 88 service manual and a Mithchell On Demand electrical print of an 87 Starion. The 88 print show 1 relay but the 87 shows 2 relays. Maybe chasing my tail here, don't know. I may have an 88 ETACS on hand to try. Are the 87's and 88's the same? TIA

  17. Going by the "Electical Systems Parts Location" page in the service manual, it's the one right in front of the Starter Inhibitor relay on the right side of the battery in the engine department. I had the same thought. Just new that was it.
  18. Swapped just about everything(wiper switch combo, wiper relay, wiper motor) and it still runs as soon as the switch is turned on. It actually will respond to switching speeds(Hi, Lo) but just will not stop in the off position. Don't know about intermitten operation cause low speed stays engaged. What am I missing? TIA
  19. Been driving about 3 weeks now. It appears to have stopped leaking. I'll check the level again asap. Must have had a little too much in it. Thanks again guys.

  21. Oil is being slung up onto the driveshaft tunnel right at the end of the tranny which led me to believe that the seal is leaking. Will start with a check of the oil level first Mike C. Will post my findings. Thanks again guys.
  22. Output shaft of tranny leaking(only while driving). Changed seal which old one didn't look too bad. Checked again after installing new seal. Still leaking. What am I missing? TIA
