Technology
I had a *DM exhaust from way back when that I cut and modded a new downpipe to fit. I just used a part of a 3" u-bend. Not 90 degrees though two of them would work. Why make such a drastic turn when you can get pretty close to 45 degrees at the outlet of the turbo, then all you need is the same angle turned around to shoot it out backwards under the car. Whatever angle you choose, just make a twin and spin it around. Maybe 45 isn't enough, but you get my point. Anyway, here's what I accomplished today. I had to help a co-worker with his jeep. Can't seem to get that thing running right. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/data/529/medium/DSC03248.JPG Just got a longer bolt, a sleeve-of-wizard spacer, another smaller washer, then sandwiched the degree wheel between the small washer and the stock hugemungus one. I rigged up a thing to hold a pointer. Now I need to make a piston stop, which I'm halfway done with. Got a spark plug hollowed out and a bolt, now just need to tap the plug to make the bolt thread in. Then I need to make a solid mount for the dial indicator. Then I can degree it finally. And then I have to order bends to re-do my exhaust, or maybe just a new downpipe to mid section and my new muffler. We'll see about that. Then to the dyno! Technology
Cam is in and installed straight up according to schnieder's suggestion. I got to fixin' my exhaust the last couple days. I decided not to buy new bends and make a whole new exhaust, I just hacked on the one I have and made it better. And let me tell you, it's amazing. It looks terrible, but it sounds amazing. Car in the air for exhaust:http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/data/529/medium/DSC03250.JPG Here's my improved downpipe. It was hacked together before, and it looks worse now, but it's actually better, I ground down some boogers inside and made sure the recirculated WG pipe doesn't have any crazy turbulence inducing obstacles. And the bellow looks awesome, even if every other part doesn't. lol. It works and it's gonna get me over 400whp, so yeah.http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/data/529/medium/DSC03249.JPG This is really good beer, Hope you try it sometime because you'll like it. If you like good beer.http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/data/529/medium/DSC03251.JPG And the rear section with muffler, and new custom tip. It was part of the 3.5" bend I had as the "tip" before and I made it a cone and welded it on. It actually looks pretty sweet on the car. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/data/529/medium/DSC03252.JPG So far, without a new tune I haven't floored it, but I have gotten into boost, and it's a real rocket. It keeps pulling where the old cam began to die off. But it also starts going lean there, so I haven't revved it all the way out. My guess is I'll have a much more useable powerband, and if it's still going above 6k, I'll raise the limiter to perhaps 7 grand. Thursday can't come soon enough. Now all that's left before vegas is a gas tune and an alignment.

Bag-O-Chips
I think i can see 600 hp peeking its head around the corner real soon
Technology
I never updated after the dyno, but I made another thread. It made 447whp and 470wtq at 27psi and the run was cut short at 5600rpm, so I might have seen 3 more HP, but who knows. Now the clutch slips, and I've taken parts off the engine to replace them with more fancy things. I'll update later. It was really fun for about 24 hours, then the clutch went bye bye. Technology
Well, happy b-day to me, I recieved this nice part today from Bag-O-Chips, and just threw it on to look at it and take a picture. I need to see if the injector I have to test fit is the right size. If so, I'll be buying four 160lb/hr injectors for 170 bucks. If not, then I need to figure out what to do. Maybe new ones.http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/uploads/1285557770/med_gallery_3386_777_604747.jpg

Bag-O-Chips
Updates!!!! lol I'm glad the Cannon is working out The Magna is in and I'm tooling around with a few things at the moment too. I'm praying you hit 600's

Last friday I picked up a crustang 5.slow throttle body, and I did end up getting the 1680cc injectors from the same guy the week before. I also measured the plunger for the BOV at 40mm, and the flange and tube for it were much smaller; meant for the smaller type S blow off valve from greddy. So I cut off the tube, and enlarged the flange to match, and I used a bigger pipe left over from a long time ago. So, full flow is better than not full flow. The TB is smaller than my old one on the magna, but it should do the trick, all it has to do is make 600, I think that's not too much to ask of a 62mm TB, lol. DSM's do that on stockers, which are even a little smaller, I think. I need to finish buying the fuel components, figure out a thermostat, a dist. hole block off plate, return line connection, and it should be ready to rock and roll. Tuning in the cold air will make more power easier. Oh yeah, I have to get a new pressure plate. Money money money!
dmyers151
Look at mid 90's Ford Ranger (IIRC) thermostats, they were inline style and will fit directly into your radiator inlet port.
psu_Crash
I wish I could use the style throttle body with the idle valve on top. With the magna intake the valve would hit my hood Looking Good Andrew!
Bag-O-Chips
Heefner ran this thermostat on his setup IIRC http://static.summitracing.com/global/images/prod/large/mez-wn0072_w.jpghttp://www.summitracing.com/parts/MEZ-WN0072/?rtype=
Technology
Dale, I checked at the parts store, and none of the rangers had that inline style like the one Bag-O-Chips posted a picture of. They all were manifold/engine mounted. And that Meziere unit is awesome, I'm going to get it. Perfect. I can get an idle control motor from ebay, and TPS there as well, if one doesn't turn up. I will also check locally at the performance shops. New parts from the store are dang expensive, even with my sweet discount. They call me "money" when I walk in there, lmao. Bag-O-Chips
lol. I have the sensor, bad news is... it has a dead spot(sweep checked it with a meter). I just remembered why it's in the tool box "random junk drawer"
dmyers151
Oh yeah, isht, now I remember. They aren't inline style, they are just small enough to fit inside the radiator inlet tube, haha. Charlie Gardner told me about them at one of Joe's meets. Sorry for the confusion Andrew.
Technology
No problem, but the parts guy was the one who looked confused. lol
dmyers151
I get those all the time. That inline t-stat that Chips posted is a much nicer part anyways.
jahjah
I've got one of these for my dizzy block off. works great and blends in pretty nice. http://www.asrcorporation.com/motorcycles/images/03CR250/PressTest/FreezePlug.JPG I used it in a pinch when i forgot i had to plug the hole at 11:00pm when i wnated to start the car, ran to the parts store and its been in there ever since
Technology
I had one of those for a while, but it eventually popped out and started spraying oil everywhere. I can't remember if I had taken it out then put it back in or what, but I just switched over to a spare distributor housing after that. I'm just worried about crank case pressure pushing that out sometime when I really don't need that to happen. I want to take a distributor shell and get a -10 bung welded on and use it as another crank case breather. But I might just block it off for now.
