TicEagle
My Conquest TSI project. One of my buddies buys a Conquest on this forum from the member Choko. He has the project to make a daily drive Conquest with 4G63T motor and a T-56 transmission, but those idea changes. He sells me the car for a decent price. The car seems to be very clean. I’m in the progress to make a Drag car with that. I just sold my 1G Eagle Talon but I keep all the setup. I will transplant my motor with a custom tranny setup. I make a descent 426whp at low boost and without the 100shot off nitro at the ShootOut 2006. This is my car:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/TicEagle/monchar7.jpg My plan: -Complete strip interior, wiring, dash, cluster, plastic, seat… I will put only a drag seat, steering wheels, custom cluster, full roll cage-For the engine bay, I will use an Eagle Talon wiring, for the cockpit I will make all the wiring custom-Fuel cell in truck, with -8an fuel line-Lexan windows all around-4G63T, 2.0L, full built, ported head, custom manifold, Turbonetic 62-1, Forester Intake manifold-I will use a full built Muncie, manual 4 speed, close ratio.-I have 26.5x10x15 slicks for the back mount on 15X10 with 4in backspacing wheels-When the rear axle will broke… I will install a new Ford 8.8 rear differential, with 4 link suspension. In Quebec, we do not have any Conquest/Starion. We could not import it. I will be the fisrt. It’s a nice car, I’m sure I will like it. For the transmission, I just take a casing of Eagle Talon tranny and I make a plate to adapt the Muncie tranny. With this technique I could use an Eagle Talon flywheel, an Eagle Talon pressure plate and an Eagle Talon starter. I just call ACT and I ask to have a race disc with 224mm of diameter (For and Eagle Talon) with a 1’’x10 splines center to match the Muncie Tranny. That’s the result, not completely finish… The Muncie come on GM car equip with the 440 motor. That’s a very tuff transmission built to support high power.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/TicEagle/IMG_0092.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/Tic.../IMG_0093-1.jpg The car with slicks:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/TicEagle/IMG_0079.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/TicEagle/IMG_0076.jpg I will let you inform of the development of the project. I have a lot of duty to make but I work on this all the free time I have. Your comments are welcome. Tic

TicEagle
like the tranny swap,,,,,how did you get the input shaft to mateup to a pilot bearing,,,,im not sure but i dought the chevy shaft fits in the mitsu pilot bearing in the flywheel The Mitsubushi 4G63 dont have a pilot bearing... I just make a hole in the crank and fit a pilot bearing in that. I balance all the assembly thing after.

cashsaudio
Good job. I like to mention couple things tho. Those stock rear ends are pretty damn strong. Its been done in a fully loaded conquest with slicks and welded at 10.61. I believe thats a 87 so see if you can find a 88-89 rear ends. I don't recall anyone breaking the rear ends outta these. Even when you have a total weight probably less than 2000lbs you most likely can keep it stock. Those stock 8.8 ain't as strong as the stock conquest rear. I've seen these 8.8 break alot with less power. Just in my opinion. Anyway keep up the good work. I'm on my way to do a 2jz swap.

I would like to put a 9'' Ford in the next year. Because with the stock rear end I could not fit some big slick. I think the bigger slick I could fit is some 26x10x15... Lidoidol
the 88 89 rear is slightly stronger in that it uses 6 bolt halfshafts instead of 4 bolt and I believe the center section is slightly beefier. 9incher is bulletproof and cheap and 4link will give you the best results. I am also looking into the possibilities of an 8.8 for size and weight. They cost a few more dollars to build but weigh alot less and can be made just as strong. TicEagle
And for the stock axle? Can I have some good result what that?
Truth
i wouldn't see why not. i've never heard of any 4-bolt halfshafts breaking much less the 6-bolt ones.
cashsaudio
i wouldn't see why not. i've never heard of any 4-bolt halfshafts breaking much less the 6-bolt ones. The reason I mention the newer rear ends that its been proven vs. the 4bolt which no one really tested. Boosted One on here still has the 4bolt and making pretty decent power but its easier to upgrade to the newer 6bolt. As matter of fact doesn' independent rear end has better traction? I have heard they do but not sure.
