anone have images of where they went through the firewall ?

Scotty I removed the glove box and ac fan. This allows you access to the firewall, you can pull the wires through the hole right by the ABS canister. Its not that bad if you remove the passenger seat and the ac fan.

This is what I did and was the easiest way. Just follow your factory O2 sensor wire to the firewall and you will find a spot there. Use a razor blade to get through the insulation material and rubber piece, and just enlarge that area. This hole is big enough to get that harness through there. Then you can mount the Haltech computer in the glove box for easy access.

You can go right through where the speedo and cruise cable goes.

It's awful close to the engine heat though.

I ran my Profec wires on the passenger side.

Pain to grab them inside the car though.

I did have to drop the A/C box and fish a coat hanger through.

the best way to locate that hole so it clears everythign is to drill several 1/8" holes till you find the desired center of your hole location, it's nearly impossble to locate the hole without doing this, you'll end up with it offset too far one way or another. When you find your hole center, you can then open it up with a hole saw, using this 1/8" hole for a pilot.

I used an 1-1/4" (trade size) electrical fitting, it's $2 and easy to find. After you run your wires thoug it, you can seal off any gaps with silicone or RTV. If you want to run stuff thoug in in the future, it's not to hard to take it back apart. To use the 1-1/4" size, you need a 1-5/8" hole saw. in the pics you can see I was able to pass an SDS harness though it by taking appart the DB-25 connector.

I've done a few cars this way, it is easly done in ~1 hour, and if you ever changed your mind, you can get a 1-1/4 "KO seal" (trade name for a 1-1/4 counduit hole plug) and cover the hole with a nice/cheap/rigid metal cover.

I may leave the bulk of th factory ecu harness connected so i can use the factory oil pressure guage and the a/c etc without tracing the wires and probably having to remove the dash to get to that stuff . Im lazy

Where is that fabric loom stuff available for wrapping the harness ?

It needst to be finnished off with heat shirnk or it wll unravel at the cut ends.

Further down that page they have tined copper mesh too, looks like braided stainless when you are done 8)

I made an entire harness with that stuff, looks bad-tail. It does corrode eventuly though, looses it's luster if you live in a marine environment like I do. It still holeds up well though.
