survyor22
So I ordered a used replacement for my damaged 89 OEM boot and the one I received doesn't match. My turbo inlet is 1/4 smaller and there are two extra nipples on mine. What year intakes work for a 89? What year is this one? pcristquester
Top picture is the 88/89 style for sure with that funky wrap around hose that goes back to the top of the air can to that non-adjustable aluminum valve plug, maybe 87's as well. The bottom one might be from a non intercooled car, not sure
survyor22
The one on the top came off of my 1989. Its damaged. What gets me is that the turbo end is actually larger on the bottom one. Its not like they had different size turbos that I know of.
pcristquester
Looks like that end is missing the straight portion where the clamp goes. There is a soft rubber piece that fits over the turbo and inside the boot that makes up the diameter difference
techboy
I can't believe you were even able to order anything, they probsbly sent you the last one they had ... lol.
TexasQuest
The intake boot with the recirc hose is for 88-89 cars due to tightening emissions at the time. The other one is 83-87 cars.
