Scotty Dont
To see the purchase of the car see this link http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=139966&hl= Dave Wolin bought this car a few years back to build as a promotional car for Mitsubishi and Toyo Tires. Toyo installed a new set of RA1 tires in SHP size, Dave had a local graphics artist reproduce and install the stripes, numbers and logos on the car, then one day Mitsubishi called and they decided to scrap the project. The car sat for almost 10 years until I picked it up. The car is gutted with the battery in the trunk, an hks intake and gauges are installed as well a greddy turbo timer and pyrometer, and autometer gauges on the pillar. There is also an AUTOPOWER roll bar and some kind of short shifter installed. My plans for this car are to restore it to an exact replica of the ESCORT racing series car. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0027_zps98c8d906.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0028_zpsd9f81517.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0029_zpse06361cf.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0030_zps006dbbab.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0031_zps6c8cc065.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0032_zps16391f80.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0033_zps2477e09b.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0034_zpsa2cdbab1.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0035_zpsc9b55690.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0036_zps8d14d960.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0037_zpsa6874215.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0039_zps9397fe45.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0040_zps746879ac.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0041_zpseaef99c7.jpghttp://www.davewolin.com/images/87broch.jpg Edited November 3, 2013 by Scotty Dont

Scotty Dont
Interior Cleaned http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0059_zps0ba238d0.jpg The autopower roll bar and battery disconnect http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0042_zpsc24b1270.jpg The greddy turbo timer and some hks gauges on a carbon fiber panel and the unknown short shifter. Most of these mods will have to go as they were not allowed in the escort racing series. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0045_zpsedba3b2e.jpg Crappy steering wheel and autometer gauges but i doubt they work. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0047_zpsefbe7ae9.jpg Ugly pedal covers and the rats nest of wiring. The whole car is like this and will be where I spend most of my time cleaning up. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0046_zps1dd667d0.jpg The Brand new Toyo Proxes RA1 tire in 245/45r16 and 225/50r16, I hope they are still good. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0052_zps43c3f6d7.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0053_zpsda882818.jpg The engine bay, with a lot of goodies. Some of which include HKS intake and Blow off valve. As with the interior mods most of these mods will have to go too. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0048_zps1718eafb.jpg More of the rats nest and poorly executed modifications. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0050_zpsd560c257.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0051_zpse919667d.jpg More of the poor worksmanship, Dave Wolin purchased the car like this so I do not blame him. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0054_zpsf626146f.jpg Here you can see a tight twist in the intercooler piping barely allowing and air flow. Also check out the cheese radiator hoses and you can see the high pressure power steering line is broken off. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0055_zps49d6083f.jpg The turbo doesnt look like a 12a to me, im guessing a g wheel maybe a 14g? http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0056_zpsfd741818.jpg Popped the valve cover off to see what im working with and was met with a pleasant surprise. An AMC marnal head and ARP head studs, I scored guys! http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0057_zpsc2eafe3d.jpg The car also has a full 2.5" exhaust with an Apex-i muffler http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b84/trippleCing/PROMO%20CAR/IMG_0058_zps90f1ed60.jpg Lucky the other car I bought has many of the stock parts that this car will need to be restored and I can swap the go fast parts onto the other car which will be my daily. Guest
The car is an 86 it has a MAP sensor and Air temp sensor which it will run off without the maf. Really? Never really looked into 86's. That's interesting. You've got some work to do. But it's definitely a good our purchase, considering it came in a package of two.
