TrustConquest
Hey guys, the stock wheels that came on my Conquest has a fair amount of curb rashes on them, and instead of throwing in the money to restore them, I was thinking of just buying new aftermarket wheels to replace them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the bolt pattern for the Conquest is 5x114.3. To your best imagination, give me your opinion (lookwise) of the Enkei RPF1's on a Starion/Conquest. I was thinking about getting 17x8 & 17x9 SBC colored ones for my silver Conquest. Yay? Nay? Suggestions?http://www.enkei.com/images/race-series/rpf1-large.jpg
leesfer
I have these on my S2000 and I love them but... They have a very high offset, I don't think they are even available in anything less than +35 so you either can't use them on a Quest or you need a HUGE spacer(s) Edit: http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=75677&view=findpost&p=1247051 Edited May 16, 2012 by leesfer
TrustConquest
Is that referring to the "Inset" number on their size chart for the RPF1? http://i1144.photobucket.com/albums/o498/TrustConquest/sizechart.jpg Edited May 16, 2012 by TrustConquest
leesfer
Is that referring to the "Inset" number on their size chart for the RPF1? Yes The Starquest stock wheels are 0 if not negative a bit We need major spacers to make most wheels fit
TrustConquest
Do you think it would be possible to special order them?
leesfer
You mean have Enkei forge you a special set of RPF1s with 0 offset? Not likely, and even if they did, the price would be crazy If you are really set on using these wheels you can use massive spacers, maybe two 25mm stacked haha There are also RPF1 knockoffs, you can see if they have lower offsets, but again, finding 0 offset wheels is tough, spacers are going to be the way to go regardless
Convette
yes not going to work on our cars. I've tried. they look stupid. These poke on my friends FD. TrustConquest
Why does Enkei list it on their size chart as Inset? Isn't inset considered "negative offset"? Meaning that it's deeper towards the brake side? I really wish the universal standard would just be negatives and positives... ...too much terminology. TrustConquest
Would wheels with a low outset (negative offset) just bolt on without needing a spacer?
leesfer
Yes, 0 to -20 is best depending in the width of your wheels
TrustConquest
Alright, thanks for all your help dealing with my annoying newbie questions
ZacMan
Finding wheels to fit can be a real pain, even if you have a narrow-body. I managed to find some TE37V copies, in 9" with a zero offset, and they fit a narrowbody pretty well. Finding something to fit a widebody must be a complete nightmare. Aleast widebodies are all 5 stud, gives you a wider selection to start from.
TrustConquest
Actually the TE37V was the one I found after this topic discussion. Probably the ones that I'm going to order. In Gunmetal. I will probably have to order 8.5's and 9.5's but it'll be fine. Both are negative offsets. http://i1144.photobucket.com/albums/o498/TrustConquest/TE37V.jpg Edited May 17, 2012 by TrustConquest
ZacMan
9.5's with a -15 offset sound about right for the rear of a widebody, i'd do some measuring for the front however. They'll look awesome! You must have deep pockets, no way I could afford genuines rays te37v's... I went to a track day recently and a late model soarer had some fitted, damn they looked awesome. TexasQuest
RPF1's look great on some cars but not on a SQ in my opinion. They don't have a deep enough lip.
