taeisallin Posted September 2, 2013 Report Share Posted September 2, 2013 If there's any s'quester still without a set of hood struts, please do your self a favor and grab a set. this hood strut saved my winshield twice, since i did my 2jz swap. i ve been using hood pins to since the swap. the first time, i had temporary pins and after admiring the engine bay, i left the pins in my pocket. right before i hit the highway, as i was getting on the gas, the hood flew open to my horror. it slightly damaged the cowl area but the winshield went completely untouched. i was lucky because it was a hood donated by my local friend nycain, for use until i got my areo catch hood pins.http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa475/Taeisallin/1362519043_zpscf089322.jpg so, after the new hood pins came in, i had them installed. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa475/Taeisallin/1378123383_zps09a7909f.jpgand wanting to hide any imperfections left by the flying hood, i decided to go a different route and plasti dip the car. the dip came out fantastic, but upon my arrival to pick up the car, to my surprise, the hood was off the car!! i didnt know what and why? but went i went inside, they had my hood on the table, all damaged again!! they drove the car without securing the latches and once again the hood went flying!! but once again saved by the "HOOD STRUTS"http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa475/Taeisallin/1378123412_zps6106f152.jpg so please, if there is anyone who is using aftermarket hood pins, do yourself a big facor and buy some winshield insurance. it may be one of the hardest parts you'll need to replace. also, for stockers, it helps with raising that 30# hood he also replaced a blown strutwhich is probably done by the 2 hoods, without asking a thing. what customer service!! thanks tim!! tae Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
