Heh, I've seen those bearings before. Those are the bearings from a turbo charger. :)

If those were from the turbo on the car, he'd know it. Likely the remnants of a past turbo that crapped the bed in spectacular fashion.

Good job so far. Just a thought, the manifold pics look wavy on the flanges. You may want to have the manifold and turbo inlet re-surfaced. Or al least run on a belt sander. It looks like they may not seal too well.

Well I'll be filing the ceramic off the mani surface and stone-ing both surfaces smooth. other than that, i hope I can finally get this thing running again this week!

well by running I mean idle...then i pull of the old IC pipes and MAS for new 4" *DM IC, 2.25" full set of pipes, and a GM MAF blow through and MAF-T gen 2 for fuel control.I have to cut the front BOV section of the OCVP off to make room for the MAF, then have a capable welder run a fat bead around the cut end to act as a lip so the coupler doesn't blow off. I'm really hoping the MAF-T 2 install and tune goes smoothly cause I might punch myself in the left nut if it takes me days (which translates to weeks with school and work in the mix) to get it on a solid street tune. Then, after that is verified, I pull the pipes back off for powdercoating since they are bare aluminum. I wish I could just coat em now but I need to make the MAF cut first.

You don't have to have it welded all the way around, 3 or 4 beads will be enough. I had a guy do that to mine a few years ago (he owns an rx7 shop and claims to have run 60psi on a rx7 and never had an issue) and I didn't have one with my car. Or take the pipes to AMS and have them bead roll it, it's $5 each end.

Or spend $5 and make your own bead roller. Like so http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/custom-fabrication/324132-homemade-intercooler-pipe-bead-tool.html

After an hour of knife stoning, the turbo side is planed. Manifold side will be done Thursday.
