DSMconquest
The valve cover came with the engine I purchased off a guy in Pennsylvania. It is actually a red, high metallic powdercoat. All I did to it was remove the powdercoat from the letters and polished them up. I wish I knew where he had it done cause it is cracked and has been replaced since the photos. Thanks for looking and the compliments guys. JDOliver
I'm working on the same swap. Did you use the D50 engine brackets and motor mount? Which year W trans did you use and where did the shifter line up. Thanks.

Im not using a supra trans, so i dont care about that part of the question lol

I'm also doing this swap with a Billhousing and an R154....fun stuff!

You never know who has done it before and found something that works better! BTW do you have any idea if there is a difference between the driver side and passenger side (BLOCK) Motor mounts from a Mighty Max or a D50? Bill Hincher
I know that most people use the D50 mounts, however I still like asking, just to see what setups other people are using. You never know who has done it before and found something that works better! BTW do you have any idea if there is a difference between the driver side and passenger side (BLOCK) Motor mounts from a Mighty Max or a D50? here is the problem, the G54b engine has the balancer shaft mounted high in the engine blockhttp://www.billsautofab.com/images/motormount67.jpg the 4G63 has the balancer shaft mounted low in the engine blockhttp://www.billsautofab.com/images/motormount63.jpghttp://www.billsautofab.com/images/motormount45.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/motormount46.jpg and to furthur complicate things, the crankshaft in the G54b is 1/2 inch higher into the block then the 4G63http://www.billsautofab.com/images/motormount47.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/motormount48.jpg even better yet is the fact that the enginge block is wider on the 4G63 then the G54b when measured to the drivers side engine mounthttp://www.billsautofab.com/images/motormount52.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/motormount53.jpg so you cant use two short motor mounts to mount the 4G63 even though they fit http://www.billsautofab.com/images/motormount64.jpg the drivers side must be longer then the passenger side and both must be 3/4 in lower http://www.billsautofab.com/images/motormount65.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/motormount66.jpg Edited May 17, 2011 by Bill Hincher

The D50 mounts are exactly the same, no difference from drivers to passenger side. Edited May 19, 2011 by jayfressh

Which year W trans did you use and where did the shifter line up. Thanks. I PM'd him a similar question. His response : I had to cut where the shifter comes into the cabin a little bit. My car was an auto before, dunno if the shifter opening is any different though. I like the shifter location even if it is a little far forward. I dont have any issues with it. Dooly
Uhg. I hope my engine bay is that clean someday. The stock SQ engine bay is so cluttered with wires and ghetto inter-cooler piping routing.Great work!
DSMconquest
I haven't added any pictures to this thread in a long time since I've been enjoying driving the car. Here you can see how the W58 trans shifter location lines up in the car.http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv215/dsmconquest/2011-08-21_18-10-00_19.jpg And here's some pictures I had on my phone from 2013. I still need to have one of my buddies who's into photography shoot the car one day.http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv215/dsmconquest/IMG_20130504_171857_492-1.jpg http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv215/dsmconquest/IMG_20130531_180528_920_Sophia_Alex_Vignette_Wispy.jpg http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv215/dsmconquest/IMG_20130908_123941_485.jpg http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv215/dsmconquest/IMGP6839CR-2.jpg http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv215/dsmconquest/IMG_6148221038916.jpg http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv215/dsmconquest/IMG_56916082671943.jpg http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv215/dsmconquest/IMG_20130908_123524_018-2.jpg

DSMconquest
The muffler is the same one that Buschur used on his DSM exhausts for years. Its a Dynomax Ultra Flo SS.
