now all that good eye candy, here's some bad:

there is dirt/grime like that all over the car, in all the nooks and crannies, and around the whole length of the spoiler top and bottom, around the B pillar vents, through out the both door jams, ect. Problem is, it won't come out. tried grease lighting, miguire's 6 use wash/clean/wax/polish compound, ect, and not a single smudge came off onto the rag. How would I go about cleaning that stuff up?

Other wise, brakes need to be bled (or the master cylinder is bad, but most likely just needs bleeding). Thats it really. Also, is it normal for it to start up, idle around 7-800, then slowly raise to 1200 over the coarse of 10 seconds and stay at 1200? or is something wrong? also want to look into moving the MAS up after the BOV, but I might as well wait until I can do MAFT-2 or MAFT pro with a GM 3". How do you adjust boost with the stock set up? its at 7 right now, but I know the cars are adjustable when stock to go up to ten. How would I go about doing that? its a 14g turbo also, not a 12A. After about a week of driving and making sure the fuel system is tip top, I want to raise it to 10 PSI. Bryen had ran it at 10PSI when he had it though, so it should be fine. Spent today cleaning the door jams and other nooks and crannies as best I could. Yesterday I went through the whole interior with armor all to give the leather and plastic some good color and shine. The plastic held it, but the leather is now looking a little faded/ not as rich. What would you recommend to treat the leather? I also cleaned the carpets pretty well, but our little vac is pretty week so wednesday after school I'll prolly stop by the do it your self wash and vacuum out the interior again, and then take it down to the delta sonic car wash and get the deluxe wash and wax (it's a touchless automatic) just to get the dirt off, cause there's a tough layer of dirt/dust on it, from what seems like sitting in a garage. Next month when the salt is gone I'm going to get a full detail going. Inside shampoo and treatment, trunk, clean the engine compartment to get rid of all that 20 yr old grime and grease, get the wheels polished up and cleaned, wash-clay-wax the exterior, ect. Anyone in the chicago land wanna come next month and help? It would be great to have a few guys working instead of just me/my dad, hopefully get this car spotless. Then we can have some brats, burgers, dogs, ect (and you can BYOB since Im only 15 hahaha) and I can meet some fellow SQ'ers and we can introduce our cars to each other lol.

anyways, there it is, my kinda first car, and my baby

I was able to get similar stuff off the hood of my flatty with some Lysol 4-1 cleaner, haha, paper towels, and a bunch of elbow grease

Car looks good though, and looks to have all the 88 bits, inside, and it's been resprayed, or at least the rear bumper has, 87's and older, that center bump out on the bumper is black, only 88 and newer came body colored stock

alright Ill try some lysol in the next day or two. I was looking at the rear bumper, and I think only the bumperette was sprayed, cause its a way brighter white compared to the bumper, but the whole car could have been repainted and the bumperette just held it better Since it's plastic. Also, what 88 stuff does it have inside? Never knew there was an interior change for 88/89

Try using Chlorox on the grime.

I wouldn't use armor all, it is water-based. I'd suggest Mcguires leather conditioner on the interior.

Nice looking car, take care of her :)

Jimmy

chlorox bleach? wouldn't that damage the paint? As for the leather conditioner, I was just looking at that stuff about 40 seconds ago, weird! I'm going to be picking up a bunch of wash/clean products for the interior and exterior just to clean it up for now.

Then next month a full detail will come. Still haven't decided weather to do the detail myself or have it professionally done. I want to do it myself/with my dad/ possibly some SQ'ers, but I think the professional detail may be best just this one time to get all the jams, creases, ect perfectly cleaned by them, and just have them wax/detail while they are at it. 20 years of dirt and grime have built up in all these jams and creases, so once that tough stuff is cleaned out by a pro detailer, the 2 per year details following that would be done myself. I don't know yet though.

I spent 3 hours with grease lightning, a few hundred q tips, and about a dozen terry clothes, and all I got done with was both door areas, and it's not even that good still  It may just be me though, being a perfectionist.

anyways, she will definitly be well taken care of. I couldn't stand to neglect her  haha

EDIT: What do you guys think about this detail? http://deltasoniccarwash.com/fulldetail.htm

The ultimate at the bottom. It includes everything of the showroom, but also includes engine bay detailed, and a 2 stage wax/polish, permanent and warrentied leather clear coating, paint clear coating (well sealant, as it's not sprayed on in paint form), and fabric clear coating.

I look at it like this, get this professional deal this first time as more or less a "restoration" of everything, and then from there on out I'll do the usual twice a year fall/spring detailing and waxing myself as a more or less "maintenance" detailings. Thoughts?

Don't sweat it man, I ordered one from MOMO, it was like 3 bucks or something. I'm just waiting to install it now until the glue breaks. I didn't know there was suppose to be a retention ring so I couldn't figure out why the damn horn kept popping in, so I 5 minute epoxied it in hahaha. It'll break eventually and give me a chance to put the ring in
