TexasQuest
Very nice. That is a rare gem compared to other SRT-8 models.
pagemo
Thanks guys! yeah the magnum SRT 8's seem to few and far between the price and timing on this one was just to good to pass up. So far I am extremely happy!I will post some good pics when the weather is better and i have a little time until then it will be in the garage! strang3majik
thats BA...lol And, I bet, someday, they'll be worth something. Limited production on just the normal models, let alone the srt8s. Nice score man.

yzrider
Does anyone know why these cars didnt sell better? Dodge and chrysler made some cool cars but they still tanked it. The charger, the 300c, the magnum, challenger, srt4, all of those srt cars were pretty sweet but none did well enough I guess. Any ideas? The magnum is like a factory made hot rod, low, mean, fast, chopped top look I like them.
dmyers151
My guess is there really wasn't a market for it.
yzrider
Yeah I guess, the srt4 is a hell of a little car. Ive driven a couple and those little fools are rockets with minimal work.
dmyers151
Well, I thought you were just referring to the Magnum. Most of the other stuff sold decently for the price I guess. The Magnum is just a somewhat awkward, niche market car.
yzrider
I guess im just wondering why chrysler failed so badly when they were doing some cool things. Not many other car companies were coming out with anything like that and it still didnt help them any.
dmyers151
Niche market stuff dude. It's all great stuff, but there just aren't a ton of people with the kinda money to spend on something like that, you know? Those SRT8 cars sold for $40k + when new. TexasQuest
Yes the main problem was the SRT line was high priced. Dodge did good offering performance vehicles like they did successfully back in the late 60's, early 70's but they were just too high priced. Fanta
SRT's aside, I don't know about you, but I see Chargers and 300C's EVERYWHERE
strang3majik
^^^yeah, a lot of companies bought fleets of them. But...keep in mind, right now, gas prices are going crazy, and, a high performance, 6.1L V8 doesn't sound so appealing to many when gas is $3.00 a gallon. Now, if I could afford an SRT 4-10....(number of cylinders in the srt line wouldnt matter to me ) then, the gas mileage wouldn't matter to me much, as I really don't drive far. But...too many, its just not what they want...as said, a niche market. But...being able to move a 5000lb bohemith down the track in the low 13s bone stock isn't too bad. Imagine that performance in the 3000lb Dodges of yesteryear. Theres some factory high performance.
yzrider
The big power cars from back in the day were much more impressive. The only mods you needed to worry about were traction other then that what more was needed to get down the track in a hurry?
