blue_crush
I'm almost done with it, I will post the pics up as I go. The set up is a WH1C holset turbo with the stock manifold, mounted on the stock manifold with my homemade addapter, and a 38mm external wastegate. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/001-3.jpg Size comparison.... http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/002-4.jpg stock manifold. I cut the studs off. Personal choice. I could of left the studs on and made the whole addapter using the stock studs to hold it all down. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/005-4.jpg just wasting time! http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/006-5.jpg Mitsu flange welded on. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/008-2.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/009-3.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/010-2.jpg T3 flange with divider. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/011-2.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/012-1.jpg

blue_crush
I was thinking about making more addapters that would be a direct bolt on for the T3 flanged turbos, whether it's a holset or any other T3 style.
blue_crush
Just finished up the external wastegate setup. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/001-4.jpg flange with the extension pipe http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/002-5.jpg wategate hole before the mount http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/004-5.jpg and after the mount and porting. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/003-5.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f187/whitey240sx/89%20Street%20Quest/005-5.jpg now I just need to put it on and start fabbing up my pipes for the evo intercooler. movin on
Have you completely install the holset? I was having issues finding oil fitting sizes for the return line. That and getting an oil restrictor for my app. I understand a treadstone manifold would make for an easier installation. If I could find the adapters to bolt on, I would have mine installed already. blue_crush
Yes, it has been completely on the car, I just have to get one more item, and I'm done.I already have all the fittings for the oil feed and return. and as for the addapter it wasn't that bad at all. I could probably make one with or without the external wastegate set up for someone if their was some interest in it. movin on
Would you please send me some info on where and which oil lines you purchased with all the fittings and the restrictor or regulator? It has been an issue for me since I have been talking to two companies about oil lines and not getting very far.

DieHARDmitsu.
Looks good! let us know how she spools!..... Just curious, What kind of welding rod was used to weld the steel flange to the cast iorn manifold? Edited April 13, 2009 by DieHARDmitsu.
Scotty Dont
It looks like you are have penetration problems with your welds, you either need to slow down or turn up the amperage. Which process are you using?
blue_crush
I never said I was a good welder. When the condensation gets in my bar it make the welding wire have a bit of rust on it so I kept on having issues with the welder. I did my roll cage last year and it turned out nicely. Besides most people will just see tail lights anyways! I used a wire welder and a s*** ton of heat on the manifold, it's not that bad to weld to, especially with a welder that can run nice and hot. BTW Scotty, I love the rims. You have just inspired me.

bigmandsm
Oh if that is exhaust tubing scrap that ! Try again it will crack in a month can't take the heat and weight of turbo use a heavy gauge steel like angle iron and is your wastegate going to clear the body? blue_crush
I used a thick wall tube and yes the wastegate clears the body. I also put a thicker walled insert down in the bottom by the manifold for added support and strength.
GST95
Have you completely install the holset? I was having issues finding oil fitting sizes for the return line. That and getting an oil restrictor for my app. I understand a treadstone manifold would make for an easier installation. If I could find the adapters to bolt on, I would have mine installed already. Most holsets have a 12mmX1.5 oil inlet, but some have a bolt on flange. It might also have a removable inverted fair adaptor depending on where you got it from. The drain should be a standard garret t3 drain flange. Depending on your oil source, you might not need a restrictor. I ran this turbo with an oil feed off the head of a 4g63 with no restrictor and a 4an line. If you want to use a restrictor and cant find the right size you want, you can make one using a nitrous jet whatever size you want. Project is lookin good. Ill be expecting a ride this weekend

GST95
Man thats a small comp wheel... Probably a more accurate description would be "Man that big comp cover makes the comp wheel look small". I wouldnt consider a 56mm inducer to be small, especially compared to stock.
