WRBSTI1
I do not know if I buy the decals since I have owned a Starion and every Starion I have seen has a larger 3 diamond embelm on the front and Mitsubishi Starion chrome embelms on the rear. I have never seen this combination on a Starion ever so I do not know if they were made or put on by some one. Other than that this car is clean and NICE. http://www.autotrade...&standard=false I looked a little more closely, think the car has been repainted and those decals but in place. I would be willing to bet this car was originally a Conquest which was converted over to a Starion. ucw458
It's a starion, not a conquest.

I have never seen a rear Starion sticker like those and have never seen ESI-R like TSI stickers on the side of the car and I have owned 2 Starions 1 that was 5 years old in the early 90s. My 88 had the chrome rear Mitsubishi and Starion badges with no ESIR on the sides. I do not doubt the car but I have never seen this sticker combination on any Starion and I have looked at a lot of them. The front emblem is also much smaller similar to the mid 90s Eclipse Mitsu emblem. My 88 Black ESIR had the turbo on the back glass, the mitsu insert on the steering wheel and all those other key pieces but I have never seen the front emblem nor the rear Starion like Conquest emblem on any Starion. Not saying it is a conspircy but that car just has some things to it which made me question it. Edited February 2, 2012 by WRBSTI1

WRBSTI1
Definitely clean, but the price is too high. I knew someone was going to say that, I personally do not have a problem for paying good money for a clean original car. I would probably pay 6 grand or so for an all original 88 or 89 Starion ESIR with low miles and all original paperwork but this car is being advertised as original when it clearly is not. No original stereo and the front and rear emblems are suspect. There are conquests for 5-6 grand that have been on autotrader for years and in this economy someone would have to pay cash for it. I doubt it sells but he might get an older nostaglic guy with a fat 401k to poney up the 9 grand for it. You never know.

Frenchi934
the bumper step color is a yearly difference. Not a make difference. 88-89 have a color bumper.
WRBSTI1
I have been seeing a lot of original low mileage cars showing up for big time money. Do not think they will sell or at least quickly but it makes me wonder as to why they are hitting the market now?
Leeintheconquest
I think the low milage cars have been hiding out in garages until recently. Note I said garages. There seems to also be plenty of low milage starquests showing up that have clearly been stored in a barn and not cared for and these people still think they can get top dollar. BIG difference!! I think the car in question hear should go for around 8k and I'm sure he has some haggle padding in his price.

I am not just talking about SQs, there is an 80s MR2 Supercharged with 20 somehting thousand miles on it. Right now it is at 10 grand and has not hit the reserve (ebay). I do not even think a mid 80s MR2 sold but for around 18 - 20 grand when it was brand new. The 90s models are different they easily bring 5-10 grand, and I have seen a lot of other ones hit the market. You can buy 04-07 STIs for 10-20 grand and my 08 STI was 24 grand with a factory warranty and under 40 thousand miles. Old jap cars are cool but I do not see them bringing anywhere near the type of money some of them are asking for them. 1989STAR-ESIR
That is one clean Star! i wish I could get my hands on those decals. My car has been repainted the original color but has not ESI-R decals anywhere anymore. It is an original starion but it says chrysler on the title like so many do. $8900 is rather high considering the mileage is not THAT low. Nice clean car though. I would eat off it then tag a fine beotch on the hood.
WRBSTI1
my buddy just bought an 04 Lexus IS300 clean as can be for 8800 so yeah I think 8900 is a little steep for this.
