jmmy
So I want to lower my car and update the 23-year-old suspension. Are there any more under $500 options than Suspension Technique springs or Ground Control coilovers? Which one would be best? And I'll need some new shocks as well, I assume Tokico is the best I could get?
89PalermoSHP
eibach would be my first choice in a stock replacement then st since eibachs may be more difficult to find. they will lower it about an inch or so. just on the edge of decent camber specs. as for struts, good luck finding tokicos and get the wallet out if you do find them. there are a few options but direct replacement is getting harder to come by for all four corners. jmmy
"installed the right way" hmm does that mean that it's common that they're usually not installed correctly? what are some precautions one should take when installing them
FLATBROKE313
From what i hear people dont use the rubber o rings provided and here alot of noise.I use the rubber o rings and then used black electrical tape over them real tiet fit but you wont get the CLUNKING noise and just all around a better install and if you need any more advice i would be glad to help. jmmy
like 2 maybe 3 inches lower than stock. i'm considering cosmo coilovers and mookeeh struts. would that be any good?
Komeuppance
The real advantage of the cosmo coilovers is adjusting your height to where you want it. MK1 struts should work fine, he stated they were designed with lowered cars in mind. You should save up for some camber plates as well to dial in your suspension. If the MK1 shocks wear out too fast, you can go with KYB MR2 GR2 shocks for about $44 each, run a shock spacer inside the housings if you don't want to cut them down. You'll have to change your top hats or resize the MR2 struts because they are larger threaded shaft. -Robert
Caliber308
Two or three inches below stock? If so, About your only option is Adjustable coil-overs. Mooketh has, or had them,Cosmo still sells them on E-Bay. But, with lowering your car that much you will also need Adjustable Camber Plates. Don't want to install them? Plan on replacing your tires on a more than regular basis. CALIBER 308 Edited September 9, 2010 by Caliber308
