Knight of Mopar
I only seemed to find one thread on it so I guess I am posting for some insight. I understand the car will need some reinforcement. Will a full cage be enough to support this? I am no engineer so I was hoping someone with a little more knowledge/experience could lend me a hand with some advice.
BrazilBoy
Um let me get this straight you want to go targa but then put in a full cage??? ...just seems pointless.. It has been done by Louis (Mistapickles) out in Cali and was a nightmare structure wise...
strang3majik
Go T-tops and reinforce the center section. Same function...more strength.
D_Venable
Here's an idea I drew up years ago http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10030/quest018.jpg
Knight of Mopar
That sketch is what I kinda had here *I can not draw*. With the top half of the door being welded to the roof. Sealing is where I got a little lost

boostdquest89
Without re-enforcement...............No doubt! Chad-
Convette
I don't know, I love the idea, and thought about it a lot.. But even with my cage I don't feel like it would be enough. You would have to do some sort of sub frame connectors as well as a extra sturdy cage. Nothings impossible.
Burton
I cut the whole roof off a couple, and just rolling it around it was obvious that it ruined the car. If you full cage it you should be OK, but that's a lot of work for something that may or may not turn out right. And if it doesn't turn out right and it's not something that can be fixed, then what are you gonna do?

Chad-http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/2/3/727626/targa.jpgit drove and everything...it was serious enough to know I would need to put it on an S-10 frame for it to be safe. strang3majik
does look cool though...haha. But, some frame connectors connecting the frame connectors may be necessary. But, can't be any worse than an 80s Camaro convertible. If you park those a certain way you can't open the door. And they were sold brand new that way...haha.
