jwrape
Well as many of us around here have, my Seat belt release buttons and levers are pink and dry. Who has a method of bringing them back to life. I was thinking of spray painting them back red, but I would have to tape EVERYthing off to do it cause I don't want to pull everything apart to do this... Any good suggestions? freetoskate124
I almost painted those too. It seemed too messy though, so any other methods are good too.
Burton
Your only choice is to paint them, and be sure to use a paint made for adhering to plastic like Krylon Fusion, otheriwse it will all just flake off eventually.
Fanta
It's weird. If you take your fingernail and scratch them the color returns somewhat.

TexasQuest
I used a red model paint marker. Worked excellent.
Burton
I wouldn't use heat. If anything us a scotchbrite pad from the kitchen just enough to scuff the top layer off. Personally, I'd still just paint them. No taping necessary if you use a paint pen, but even if you tape and spray with Fusion, it won't be hard if you use some care. strang3majik
Don't paint them... Mine were white...no longer even pink... I took armorall, and scrubbed them. Once it dried, I reapplied....I did that about 20 times, and they're red as new. Works for your emergency seatbelt release switches as well As I said...armorall the crap out of them. No paint chipping to worry about. Just let it keep soaking into the plastic and rehydrate it, then it will come back. Same goes for that black plastic piece between the taillights
jwrape
I did hold a lighter up to it and it re-vamped the color but I think I will still paint them...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v177/jwrape/Conquest/Beltrel.jpg
vbrad511
I've had good luck bringing the color back to faded plastics using a product called Penetrol. You find it at Sherwin Williams, or most any other paint store. It's an additive for oil based paints, but rubbed on with a rag, and rubbed in, it tends to restore things and give them a protective coating. I did my license plate panel a few years ago. It looked great for a long time. Could use it again now.
blue_crush
It's only two tiny screws that hold those things on......what's the big deal? Just take em off, scuff, clean, and paint. Done.
