Malykaii
So everything I find searching pertains to 2.5 vs 3. My concern is 2.25 vs 2.5. So I have a 2.5 tep downpipe and some old 2.25 strait pipe bolted on with some coat hangers (quick fix). I need a proper exaust. So exaust shops quoted me $300 and up for a finished job with parts, but I'm low on cash and all. Is the 2.5 exaust on an all stock 88 worth it? Otherwise I can just grab a flex pipe, resonator, and muffler and just splice it all into the 2.25 pipes I got for under $100 and be done.

importwarrior
i got a 3 inch down pipe.i got a 3 inch cat converter from CATCO at summitracing.comi then got a WLK-17223 muffler from summit racing.i took it all down to the local mom n pop muffler shop. they installed it all and the pipe for $105 dollars. i did bolt the down pipe on and had the car towed to the shop.they basically ran the pipe from down pipe back installed the cat and muffler for the $105. Malykaii
Miss measured. Turns out all the old piping and stuff I have is 2inch. I believe that's stock for these cars, no? So I should be fine with 2inch and cat less I assume?
techboy
That quote isn't crazy for a dp (just so you know) I had a custom downpipe made for my car (2.5 I think - can't remember) and I paid somewhere around $280.
