Hey I recently got an 86 conquest widebody. I've been reading around that it's possible to put a gm maf and translator on an 88 fairly easily. Is this mod possible on an 86?

I tried canning my homemade chicken soup last time I made it. It turned out great. The 6 quart jars in the pantry lasted about a month. 1 jar = about 3 bowls of soup. When I made this in the past we always got tired of it because it was a big pot you had to eat for almost every meal for several days or it would go bad. I know people use the truck steering box to convert to manual steering but have to modify the column to make it work.   Is it possible to just take the quest gear box apart, remove the shaft that connects to the column and install it in a manual gear box? That way the column doesnt need to be modified. Or are the internals completly different?   Here is an exploded view of a MM gearbox.
