need good shape oil pick up or any good tips how to clean mine air, brakekleen???

rebuilt the motor had it re machined and the cylinders honed the block cleaned used a set of good stock pistons. brand new rings, all bearings and the head was all rebuilt by a local good machine shop. the motor ran and everything timing is dead nuts on. was reading no oil pressure on the gauge but oil was coming out of the lifters when i first started with the valve cover off to make sure there was good oil flow. the pick up could have plugged and the oil not got to the rings and seated. well
