Any dirtbike riders here? Need some advice

I'm wanting to buy a dual-purpose motorcycle soon. It's basically a dirtbike that's street-legal (has mirrors, turn signals, etc.). Does anyone here have any experience with what's available these days? I used to own a '87 Yamaha TT350 about 5 years ago, and I really liked it (pic below).

So I just rebuilt my motor and at first I had some coolant in my oil so I did a oil change and started it up. The dipstick is not foaming up or anything but there is quite a bit of smoke from the manifold and turbo. Do you think it could be the turbo or is this something fairly normal for a rebuilt engine. I am just paranoid of all my new parts. It was also making a high pitch squeeking noise. I thought it was probably just a belt but part of me was paranoid that it was a possible starving b
installing tokico's

I'm installing some tokicos on my brothers car and i understand that for the front struts you need to drop the straight strut into the old strut housing, well i did and when i try and thread on the big nut that holds the strut down from the top, it has a gap about 1/4 inch from the nut and the thread inside the housing, im thinking maybe theres an old piece of cartridge still in the housing, so i tried heating the housing to maybe loosen anything in there and then tapping the sides with a small
proportioning valve basics

I've been reading about proportioning valves because I'm about to install oscar's big brake kit and the word I got was that you need one.
Everything I read though is that proportioning valves are used to adjust the percentage of brake pressure that is applied to the rear. Without a proportioning valve, articles state that it's too easy to lock the REAR brakes, but nothing states that front brake locking is a problem you can fix with a proportioning valve.
