Need ring and pinion 87 tsi mine is completely stripped , a really long story

Ok guys. Its been a while since ive had a problem with my ol' flatty but she decided to act up once again.   A lil backround info on the car and "mods". Its a 85 flatty, I bought as a roller with no motor or trans. Decided to use my old 86's running gear for the flatty instead of building up a block. Its pretty much all stock besides a caravan head, 3' exhaust with no cats, running the 86's injectors on the flatty wiring harness and ecu. I did intercool it with a set of hardpipes and blowof

I installed new Beck Arnley main bearings in my motor. For setting the thrust bearing I have installed the crankshaft and main caps with Clevite Engine Guard. I snugged all the main bolts to 15 pounds and then loosened the main#3 cap. I wacked on the front of the crankshaft with a dead blow hammer about 6 times. I then attempted to pry the crankshaft forward but there is no end play movement.   I setup a dial indicator and proved that there is no movement even though the crank spins freely.
