Head Porting/Polishing and SS Valve Upgrade?

I'm assuming since it would be a 'mod' to a stock head, this post belongs in this thread topic. I'm almost ready to plan how I'd like the head built for my Fiji and I'd like to get a few opinions. If I intend on running a stock block with BSEK and a 16G in my auto Quest, what sort of upgrades could I have taken care of at the time the head is put together to make things as "snappy" as I can with minimal mods to the stock ignition/fuel/air delivery systems? One PITA job

[rant] The heater-core went out on my car, right after I installed the current engine (2008). I've had the parts sitting around for years, as I constantly pushed it off. And one day, on a whelm, I decided, it was time. And GUD LAWD, that is on PITA job. It fights you the whole way in. Even when it came down to pulling the box out of the firewall. 1988 Conquest Hard Start Rough Idle

88 Conquest Auto, starts hard, has rough idle with a miss, clears around 2500 rpm, compression 130 psi across all four cylinders,new plugs,wires,cap,and rotor. Swapped Dizzy, no change, disconnect primary injector it dies, disconnect secondary injector and it dies. Have not done TPS reset, injector leak inspection, or cut fuel line for fuel pressure since it revs fine. Any ideas??
