Testing the thermosensors
By tsi_tom,
I bought some new Mitsubishi(Nippondenso) thermosensors here on the board awhile ago. Now that I am ready to install the radiator I decided to test the thermosensors. I got some different results. The new primary fan thermosensor reads 1 mega ohm and the resistance increases with temperature. The new secondary fan thermosensor always reads open even in boiling water. One of the thermosensors(Nippondenso) that were in the radiator I took out and tested closed with near zero resistance at
Back to the stupid questions
By Greg23,
'87 Conquest - stock. Should the timing advance on the distributor hold vacuum in a static, engine not running, condition? I can pull about 5" and it immediately leaks down. It sounds like there's movement inside the canister. If it's supposed to hold vacuum can the canister be replaced? It looks like just 2 small phillips head screws and an acorn nut on the end or is there more going on inside the distributor? Thanks.
