  1. Hey cool another member in the Bay Area. Would be great if you could make it to our meet this spring.
  2. I sent you a private message, you ever get it?
  3. Yah there was deffinitly some error in the installation to tear up the cam that bad. Did you plasti gauge the cam bearings?
  4. Sounds like you guys are having a bit of spark blow out. What plugs, gap and wires are you running.
  5. I know where to get one, I'm hoping I can find someone that is swapping to a 1jz or something that wants to get rid of theirs with fans hoses etc for a good deal. @Moto let me know what you come up with
  6. Im looking for a 88/89 flywheel and a performance clutch I also need an SR20 radiator.
  7. That's aleady been done by the chick with the boobs.
  8. Except that Diago is the top FD driver and he runs a 2jz make 1200hp
  9. Ill take two shifter bushings, these are the pivot ball that always deteriorate correct?
  10. All of these cars need to be gone threw by the new owner. Verify the cam is timed properly then verify the ignitions is timed. Go threw the distributor and clean the weights and springs. From there replace all of the vacuum lines, this stuff is free/cheap and will almost always make the car run WAY better. If you are running the original exhaust there is a high possiblity that the cats are clogged up so that should be one of your first mods as well.
  11. Why are you bumping these old tail threads? Most of these guys don't post any more.
  12. The harness, I bought metra 70-7001. I haven't tried it yet though.
  13. The link is gone and I'm at the store looking for this. It would be nice if next time people just put the information up instead of trying to be cute.
  14. Oh and can you guys stick to the topic this is about a JZ style swap. What other newer motor that will be cheap to obtain in 10years can you drop in bolt a few things up to and run 11s quarter miles?
  15. Acura has had that technology since the 80s in the Acura legends. But when it comes time to making big power most guys remove it and run turbos. My point is when the auto manufactures started incorporating the technology into the ecu via electronic actuators is when it became more difficult to modify. My fear is that they are no longer going to make their software tunable. Like I was saying integrating wheel speed sensors into the ecu so that if you do not integrate the sensors into your swap that the ecu throws a code and the motor goes into limp mode. I know this from experience because a friend of mine swapped a newer VR6 motor into his mkii hatch and he ended up dumping the swap because he could not easily use the original cars abs wheel and G-sensor and without that information the ecu constantly went into limp mode. I do realize that aftermarket ECUs could be used to tune the engine. I guess what I'm saying is that the years I posted up above are going to be the easiest to swap and make power out of without the added expense of aftermarket ECUs and such that these newer motors are going to require when doing a swap.
  16. I swear you don't read, this thread is about newer motors being swapped. New motors are going to be harder and harder to swap in because of the technology incorporated into the engine managment like the abs, gauges, etc. The 1995 to 2005 years are going to be best as far as swappablity and power potential, think JZ RB SR LSX S50 etc
  17. I might have that piece on my side yard. I'll let you know.
  18. Looks like it should be a great turn out! Don't forget to pass the word around. I'll keep this post update as things become finalized.
  19. It's been quite a while since our last Nor Cal meet so it is about time we all get back together again. Dave Wolin has expressed some interest in getting back to the Starion scene so he will deffinetly be attending and sharing his racing history with you all. The date and location is currently pending but I was thinking a Saturday in March and possibly at Treasure Island. I believe this is an ideal location so that people who wish to fly in and meet Dave will have plenty of local accommodations. As these cars are getting older and parts are getting hard to find I believe a swap meet is in order to keep as many of these cars on the road as possible. So bring the parts you no longer need and let's turn this into a great swap meet. I will be bringing a BBQ and cooking some food if others could please pitch in it would be greatly appreciated. After the meet who ever would like to attend we will be doing a spirited run up one of the many great twisty roads in the east bay. Please let me know what you guys think and let's get a head count going! Attending Scotty Dont (Scott and Nicole) Dave W. (Dave) Star240z (Diego and Ana) SOTTY (Scotty and Val) TougeWarrior88 (Jeonel) Boosted88tsi (Jason) Ari (Shaffman) Convette (John) Scott87Star (Scott) ChassisPuke SFBMX88 (Andrew) CarlosFley CaliConquestAlex
  20. I'm thinking of hosting a meet in Northern California some time in spring 2014. Keep an eye out in the meet section.
